appearance: Dark gold, mostly clear. Nice fat white head on the pour that settles to a pretty thick lingering head.
smell: Not getting the "bright tropical aroma" Cigar City advertises, at least not up front. A little darker and dankier. Maybe the tropical thing will show stronger as it warms.
taste: Hoppy, tropical and dry. Crisp. Not sure if i'm projecting here based on the High Seas thing but I'm getting salt in there too.
overall: Very nice and different IPA in a market flooded by IPA's. Well done.

The bubbles/carbonation are very fine on this beer, almost sharp. It is definitely dry hopped but seems as if hopped very little during the boil. There is not a strong hop flavor up front, but a larger one as an aftertaste. Still not as strong as the smell is. The packaging is awesome though. Six pack cans in a new kind of holder that protects the tops from dirt and such. Not worth the the $14 for the six pack in my opinion, but I am glad I tried it. I would definitely rank this as a lighter IPA. The can says Caribbean Style IPA and that is a dead on description.
