12oz can from 6-pack received in trade from ASuarez, canned 1/8/2014.

Hazy, yellow-orange elixir poured into DFH chalice. Two finger, rocky, white head, replaced by thick rim during tasting. Plenty of lacing coats the glass.

Fantastic aroma that is all Citra: pineapple, orange, mango, peach--awesome!

The taste certainly follows--citrus as above with a smooth bitterness and the alcohol well hidden. Minimal malt that let the hops shine.

Medium body, smooth, nicely carbonated.

A nice representation of a single hop brew. The Citra hop is allowed to present itself in all its glory. If this is one of your favorite hops, grab this brew while you can.

Pours a hazy light amber, billowing white head, settles slowly to a big clump in the middle of the glass with a dense spray of lace left behind. Smell: fruit loops, grapefruit, mango, apricot, whiff of cut grass. Taste: mango, sweetened pink grapefruit segments, orange zest, lime leaf. Intense fruit forward hopping over lightly sweet caramel-tinged pale back. Canned about 10 days ago. Just when I was thinking that the high seas line wasn't measuring up to jai alai + invasion regulars, this one is a complete knock out.

Grabbed a can from Tipples. Should be fresh. Pours a hazy/murky light orange color with a small head that recedes quickly. Immediately I can smell the huge Citra hops with pineapple and grapefruit. Man this smells nice. Very west coast style aroma. Flavor is big pineapple, mango, grass, and grapefruit with a decent malt backing that provided plenty of sweetness to go along. Big and juicy flavor but a relative dry finish on the palate. Slick and medium bodied with medium carbonation. This highlights the Citra so beautifully! On the finish I do get a dirty wheaty flavor. Had the same thing with the Simcoe. Not sure what the deal is with that and it really takes away from this beer for me. It would otherwise be among my favorite IPAs.

Thanks Nat!

Ap - Deep straw, little to no head, thorough spotty lace.

Ar - Onion/garlic. Much like a Summit hopped IPA. Subtle hints of pineapple/pine/resin.

T - Not as much onion/garlic that's in the nose as slightly tart/acidic fruit (Pineapple?) takes the front seat along with some delicious classic 2 row/marris otter malty notes.

M - Classic CCB IPA. Sticky, sweet, subtle lingering green hops. Very enjoyable.

O - Delicious! Not as good as the Ahtunum version I feel, but, I'm a part of the 1% that aren't obsessed with Citra hops. Very good, just not the best! I feel it's worth seeking out if you're a fan of the Citra hops/IPA's/CCB.
