Margarita Gose from Cigar City, 12 fl oz can from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA, for $8.00 (Including tax)/six pack, $ 0.111/fl oz. Purchased 13/04/23. On the bargain table at the store. Reviewed 21/04/23 (Review 3079). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom of can stamped “CANNED 09/08/20”. Stored at 34 degrees at home. Served at 45.6 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature was 57.3 degrees F.
Appearance – 3.5.
First pour – Straw (SRM 3), hazy.
Body – Pale Gold (SRM 4), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear lite, translucent, and pale gold.
Head: Average (Maximum three cm, aggressive center pour), white, high density, short retention, leaving a 0.0 – 0.2 cm bubble ring and a thin partial layer.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 3.75 – Citrusy, mostly unidentifiable, but a touch of lime; no yeast, no malt, no hops. No ethanol (4.2 % ABV as marked on the label) aroma.
Flavor – 3.75 – Tart and follows the nose. Begins and ends citrusy and dry. No hops, malt, yeast, or ethanol. No gastric warming. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 4 – Thin; watery; soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 After sitting for 2.5 years on a room-temperature shelf, this is still the best beer I’ve ever had from Cigar City – The perfect lawn mower beer! Think I’ll go pick up a couple more sixers.

Given to me by a friend tonight. Poured into a tulip glass.

L - Pours a deep gold, with a minimal pale white head. Lacing is okay.
S - Lime peel, wheat. Not too much else.
T - Pretty much a carbonated margarita, with a slice of wheat bread crust mixed in. Salt on the front, lime on the back. Balanced throughout. Finish is super dry lime.
F - Medium-bodied, with plenty of carbonation. Refreshing. Wishing for more tartness.
O - Solid gose, but it leaves me wanting more. I know they went for a margarita beer. I just wish it was saltier, and a bit more tart. I do recommend this, but I personally won't get it again.

The pour is red orange. The taste is mainly lime, slight orange, & slight salt. This was not a bad beer but it could use some more carbonation. Cheers!

Canned 4/20/21

So this is obviously a little old, but it was a clearance rack find for $1. How could I say no to that? I’ve seen this one several times on the shelves, but ultimately skimmed past it. Let’s see if it’s worth a dollar or more

Pours a cloudy orange gold with 2 fingers of white head that quickly fades to nothing and leaves no lacing

Well, it does do a nice job of mimicking the aroma of a margarita. I’m picking up on aromas of lime juice, orange zest, sea salt, sweet bready malt, light coriander, and a touch of boozy tequila

Again, very margarita-esque in taste. Simple, but effective. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting lime juice, lemon juice, crackery malt, sea salt, and light floral hops. The swallow brings notes of sweet bready malt, lime juice, light honey, orange zest, and sea salt

A light medium body pairs with gentle prickly carbonation, resulting in a crisp and refreshing beer. Finishes almost entirely dry but still with a nice sweetness

This is wonderful as a session beer. It’s perfect to end a very hot February day Super drinkable and refreshing, I’ll have to get more for warmer weather

Pours a clear yellow and pale straw color with visible carbonation. A modest wisp of a head quickly dissipates.
It smells tropical overall, like a margarita. As expected, the nose displays aromas of orange, lime and salt.
More tart than sour, as the juicy flavors of orange and lime evoke margarita mix. A touch of salt is accompanied by notes of sourdough, dry cracker and a touch of peppery spice.
Light bodied with a dry yet juicy palate. The finish is dry with some tropical tartness. The carbonation is moderate to lively.
Not usually my favorite style nor my kind of beer. However, it is refreshing, easy to drink and happened to pair greatly with the chicken fajitas I made tonight.
