Here's a bottle from that year or two I was in Catador Club. Consumed October 2018.
Imperial stout pours black. Good beige head, 1/2" tight small bubbles, good retention. Equally impressive is the nose, they call it espresso, but I get a massive amount of coffee, vanilla and chocolate. The rum barrel isn't too heavy or have that sometimes clashing warm brass feel to it, its actually complimentary here.
Taste is nice, always gotta appreciate when a beer this big doesn't have a mouth feel of hot alcohol and booziness. Ample amounts of vanilla help smooth it out, while not overshadowing the roasted malt, light rum impression, chocolate and coffee/espresso. Carbonation was right on.
Its a big thick stout, but perhaps not sludge like Zhukov, but in that sweet spot without resorting to being too sweet. Pushes familiar stout adjuncts into that elite tier. Not really sure where the 9.2% came from here, says 11% on my bottle. I share the same sentiment as the previous reviewer, not really into too many rum barrel beers, but this did good with it.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a Firestone Walker tulip glass.
A: Pours a dark, dark brown with a low amount of visible carbonation. Forms a thin chocolate brown head that fades quickly. This is about as opaque as anything I've drank, I think.
S: Chocolate and rum mix with vanilla, coffee, oak, big tobacco and dry tannins. Big sweet roasted malts and cacao.
T: Chocolate up front - seems more prominent than the coffee, though that's obviously a huge contributor as well. Rich cacao, vanilla, and the rum spices mesh together well. Sweet roasted malts, some uncured tobacco, mocha and rum spices over the malted milk balls. It finishes fairly sweet but not cloying.
M: A thick, slick, sticky body is no surprise with Cigar City's beers. The alcohol presence seems quite well-hidden given the style. Low carbonation sensation.
O: Really, really good. The rum barrel works here. There have been many times I didn't enjoy a rum barrel treatment for beers, but it meshed well with the flavors in this one. Very, very nice.

I love regular Cafe Americano and this one takes it a step further! Magnificent but smooth Rum barrel notes and still that same coffee with slight peppery heat! Glorious!!

L: Pours a thick, oily mocha and mahogany stream with a rusty, dark brown head
S: Espresso, melted chocolate, and molasses
T: Bright shot of dark roasted coffee, decadent dark chocolate, vanilla, fudge, and a bit of spice from the rum barrel
F: Thick, chewy, and viscous
O: This was an excellent improvement on the base beer. Aside from being one of the most aesthetically pleasing stouts I've laid eyes on, this beer delivered a robust and flavorful tasting experience. Thick and rich with excellent espresso and chocolate notes, Rum BA Caffe Americano did not disappoint. Well done.
