Huge thanks to paulydeets for this extra!! Glad to finally try this. Poured into a surly darkness snifter.
A: Wow.. it looked a little flat so I poured aggressively and the reddest, black-cheery massive frothy head took over the glass and after 5 minutes of sitting has only died down a tad. What a monster looking beer.
S: Not very aromatic.. Just a tad of basic roasted malt with some sweet roast and a little beef jerkey.
T: Hm. There's a great balance of big smoke that really gets smoothed over by a honeyroast sweetness with a little bit of savory salted meat. I feel like it's a better backdrop for a great beer than a great beer in itself though. It feels like something is missing.
M: The body is great. Medium thick with a syrupy feel, a smooth foamy head and the beer leaves a tasty stick residue on the lips and throughout the mouth.
O: This beer has me interested. I'd definitely love to try variations of it, as I think that this beer could be moved around to be mind blowing, but as it is something is missing.
