Thanks to Dopplebockulus for this one. Poured into 9oz Pilsener glass. Poured a lightly hazy yellow-gold color with an inch of just off-white head that had good retention and very good lacing.
The aroma was mostly piney hops, with some weed notes and a bit of citrus in the background. There was no real malt scent in the olfactory profile. On the tongue, a bit of malt did show the through the wall of hops. The pine notes dominated, the weed faded and citrus was a bit bolder.
The body was good, smooth over the tongue, with a dry and bitter finish. Drinkability was good, but as a penalty for not reading the can first, my last pour came with a huge amount of floaty yeast chunks. Ooopsie. Overall, a very nice take on the style, if this were local to me, it would be in my regular rotation for sure. A must try if you see it, and probably worth trading for to try.

Jai Alai is my favorite Florida IPA. I've had Jai Alai on tap at the CCB brewery, as well as on tap at restaurants in the Tampa Area, and from cans in Florida and Atlanta. It's slightly better on tap, but holds up really well in cans.
Appearance: Wonderful orange and copper color. Pours with 2 fingers of foam. Very attractive IPA in the glass.
Smell: Pink Grapefruit and Citrus, with balanced malt. One of my favorite smelling beers.
Taste: Like it smells. Jai Alai is delicious. It's a very well balanced beer that starts with grapefruit and citrus which gives way to smooth malt and finishes bitter and clean . The high ABV (7.5%) is perfectly disguised. It's easy to drink too much!
Mouthfeel: The only knock on Jai Alai in my opinion. It's a little too syrupy This doesn't take away from my enjoyment, and it's minor, but it sticks in my mouth a bit more than I prefer.
Overall, this is my go-to IPA when I can find it. It's not as bitter as a west coast IPA, and not as fruity or juicy as the North East IPAs, but it fits perfectly right in the middle. Jai Alai is an excellent IPA.
