12 oz. can poured into a Burley Oak snifter (canned on 6/5/13)
A: A very solid aged copper color with a tinge of amber Nice solid head on the pour that disappears quickly. Ok lacing.
S: Nice straight lemony citrus scent that comes right through on that first sniff. Then, you get a bit of the pine in there and it is a nice blend.
T: There is a very curious flavor that I can't quite place, but seems to come in and out depending on the sip. It has an interesting profile for an IPA, that is tied into that flavor. The main flavor is piney-ish, but there is this sharp, almost sweet citrus/lemon flavor that peeks through, and may be that odd flavor I initially remarked about. It isn't like a regular citrus flavor that is the dominant flavor of the beer, it tastes like the lemon that you squeeze into your water at a restaurant. It isn't bad but you can tell that it is "separate" from the beer and almost like a second liquid. It is delicious but weird and interesting.
M: Quite smooth with a very subtle crisp carbonation that you have to strain to feel as it is only momentary and at the back of the tongue. A new one here.
Serving type: can
