Purchased from the tasting room in early November of 2010. Poured into goblet.
Appearance: Slightly hazy light copper, the head settles slowly into islands of foam and lacing that last. Very nice.
Smell: Citrusy and fruity hops. I also sense some alcohol warmness. After it warms for a few minutes, the toasty malt bill begins to take over the smell.
Taste: While this is a IPA and hoppy, it is only somewhat bitter. The bitterness is earthy and balanced against a strong malt bill. The flavors all balance really well. I get toasty malts, citrus hops, and some earthy bitterness.
Mouthfeel: The flavors coat the mouth nicely, with nice amounts of carbonation to back it up.
Drinkability: I could have several of these, if CCB distributed to Utah.

In a teku
A- cream-colored foamy head two fingers thick. Cloudy orange/amber body with residue floating around and no visible carbonation. 4
S- light citrus, lemongrass, grapefruit peel, sweet malt. 4
T- considerably sweet and malty, like oatmeal almost, but then a dose of grapefruit breaks through. I suspect some of the hop aroma and flavor have faded. Tough to know since there's no canned date here. 4
M- medium-bodied, malt-heavy, with a mild, pleasant bitterness. The finish is semi-dry and lingers with both sweet and bitterness. 4
Overall, it's good but I still am not convinced I've ever had this beer fresh enough to be blown away. 4
