Appearance-Pours an exceptionally clear (very good) light amber color with a very low head (not so good). It took a very aggressive to get any head.
Smell-Hop bitterness, but very light. More spicy than anything else.
Taste-After a dubious opening this beer gets down to business with some pretty interesting flavor. A deep but unidimensional malt flavor laden with lots of spicy and vegetal hop flavor with a dry finish and bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel-chunky and palate filling.
Overall-The right a amount of hops, but this beer would be so much better if some of these bittering hops were pushed into the later stage of the boil, producing a more aromatic and flavorful hop presence with less raw, harsh bitterness.
