Pours a very clear light amber with a good amount of head and really impressive lacing.
It smells like a big glass of citrusy, fruity hops. Rather sweet, pineapple and/or mango. A bit grassy, not the big danky hop type.
The initial taste comes across as the nose would indicate, pretty sweet, smooth and tasty. A real strong bitterness midway through followed by a lingering fruity yet smokey note. The malt towards the back keeps this one pretty balanced.
Mouthfeel is rather medium bodied. Good carbonation and a real dry, crisp finish.
Overall, I really enjoy this one. There's a lot going on with this one. The hops come through big but there's a lot of malt to back it up. There's also enough of a booze presence to indicate that this is getting close to imperial territory. Really great IPA. If only it was distributed in MN!

Jai Alai is my favorite Florida IPA. I've had Jai Alai on tap at the CCB brewery, as well as on tap at restaurants in the Tampa Area, and from cans in Florida and Atlanta. It's slightly better on tap, but holds up really well in cans.
Appearance: Wonderful orange and copper color. Pours with 2 fingers of foam. Very attractive IPA in the glass.
Smell: Pink Grapefruit and Citrus, with balanced malt. One of my favorite smelling beers.
Taste: Like it smells. Jai Alai is delicious. It's a very well balanced beer that starts with grapefruit and citrus which gives way to smooth malt and finishes bitter and clean . The high ABV (7.5%) is perfectly disguised. It's easy to drink too much!
Mouthfeel: The only knock on Jai Alai in my opinion. It's a little too syrupy This doesn't take away from my enjoyment, and it's minor, but it sticks in my mouth a bit more than I prefer.
Overall, this is my go-to IPA when I can find it. It's not as bitter as a west coast IPA, and not as fruity or juicy as the North East IPAs, but it fits perfectly right in the middle. Jai Alai is an excellent IPA.
