Loved the beer from the tap in orlando, this review is from the can

The beer pours a coppery/malty looking amber topped by a tightly-packed and thin off-white had that laces. The nose has big caramel, malty sweetness upfront with citrusy hops and a touch of biting booze making noise in the background. The taste is a super balance between assertive, citrusy hops and malt sweetness - there are no lingering unpleasantries. I don't remember the mouthfeel being so balanced and juicy when it was pumped through draught lines @ tgif in Orlando... but the beer's sweet, medium body pushes back hard against the potent, grapefruity hops and linger in harmony with utmost drinkability. I'm really impressed by this beer, though I've had it several times, and would definitely drink again.

Awesome West Coast Style IPA.

Aroma:My 11 year old daughter described the smell as "Fruity" with pineapple, tangerine, and grapefruit that you can smell from 3 feet away.

Taste: The taste is surprisingly refreshing, with all the hops in the aroma I was expecting a bitterness slap right up front, however it is super smooth, fruity with just the right amount of sweetness when it hits your mouth. The bitterness is smooth on the back end with a nice dry finish.

Overall: This has been on my wish list for awhile. I am so glad we can get it in Northern Virginia and hope this means we will get more Cigar City beers up here in the future!!!!

Canned on 10/22/13. Extremely excited to try this as Cigar City now distributes into NYC. Thankfully my local bodega had a not too overpriced (at least by NYC standards) six pack or individual cans for $2.99.

Pours a deep honey color with a two finger head that dissipates fairly quickly. Lacing lingers throughout.

As soon as I opened the can, I was hit with a strong, fragrant pine needle and fresh cut grass aroma. Extremely green. I also got some sweeter citrus notes typical of an IPA.

The first thing I tasted was straight hops. Almost too much but that quickly lead to sweeter tones like pineapple and mango. A delicious sweet tone is complimented by the bitter profile of the hops.

Loved this beer. So happy I finally got to try the hype that is known as Jai Alai. The beer definitely lived up to my admittedly high expectations. Drinking this beer fresh certainly helped but it may very well be the best east coast IPA out there.

Excellent IPA, wish we could get it around here. Poured at a good temperature with a nice size, cream-color, foamy head that soon settles to a light cover and some lace. Color is a nice clear amber with some bubble trails. Aroma is equal parts hop& malt, some toffee, caramel, fruit, spice. Flavor's like nose, great balance, clean, and just plain flat out yummy. Body/carbonation spot on. Finish is like taste, average length, no off flavs, and I want to drink this till the cows come home. Pity we can't get it around here.

From a can from 3 months ago, poured hazy orange, close to one finger head, really sticky.
Smells of sweet tropical fruit, citrus, grass, pine and slight caramel malts.
Fruitiness isn't as obvious in the taste as it is in the smell. There's pineapple, tangerine, sweet oranges, lime, slight mango and pink grapefruit. The citrus is balanced by a nice mildly sweet maltiness, that also supports the following bitterness perfectly. Lots of green notes, especially pine. Hints of honey and vanilla. The hops are huge in the finish, with a strong leafy bitterness, rich and flavourful, that lingers for a very long while in the aftertaste.
Body is just great, somewhat oily, allowing for the beer to really work it's magic on the palate. A bit too flat, but it was expected. It leaves you wanting more, so a six pack would be nice. :)
Beautiful beer in its style, amongst the best i've ever had, although i didn't really try a lot of american ipas.

Had two of these at the Bahama Breeze in Tampa. Served in a chilled pint glass, probably affected the head a bit. Nice bright, hazy orange color with an average size white head and average retention. Good solid bands of lacing.

Aroma is mostly citrus hops....not just a blast of grapefruit...there is some sweet tangerine and mango here as well. Some balancing maltiness...bready but with a hint of caramel.

Flavor is more of the same. The hops rule but this is not a one dimensional beer. The bitterness level builds up on you...not just a bitter head shrinker. The maltiness is just right.

Mouthfeel is rich and crisp. Bitterness is just right. A very well made brew.

I would be up for one of these just about any time. Wish I could get this beer at home.

A- nice bright deep orange (if that makes sense) I got a half finger head that goes away pretty quick, I'm also getting a lot of floating hop debris, looks very nice though

S- nice tropical fruits. Fresh pineapple, grapefruit, mango, also a nice malt component in the back. Smells great!

T- follows the nose, I'm getting more grapefruit in the taste though, thought I would get more pineapple, but the pineapple is still there. Big tropical hops in this one, bitter on the tongue, but has a nice malt backbone to balance it all out. Finishes with the mango. It drinks almost like an imperial, and with the abv that high it almost is in my opinion.

M- medium body, dry at first but goes away and leaves your palate fresh for the next sip.

O- overall one of my favorite IPAs, nice west coast style, great brew.
