750ml capped bottle poured into a Lost Abbey Teku glass. Shared by schen9303.
Pours a monstrous, 4 finger foamy white head with good retention. Beer is a semi-clear deep orange. Lacing is spotty and patchy with decent stick. Nice.
Nose is aromatic. Notes of hay, guava tartness, and a very light funk. Appetizing. The tart presence takes over nicely in this one.
Opens with an aggressive and accented tartness. Tart guava is immediately apparent. Some lemon rind and cobwebs with an unexpected Brett character towards the end. Some light hop and spice bitterness round this one out. Aftertaste is fruit tartness that fades into a nice sweet presence. Enjoyable.
Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Filmy and slightly bubbly in the mouth and messy and rough going down. Finishes messy with a lingering, filmy aftertaste. Solid but needs a touch more carbonation for the style.
Overall, a real nice beer. Tartness is just right for a Saison and the taste overall is nicely complex. Wish the body was a bit livelier but nothing else to complain about.

Trader tells me this is an 09 bottle "back when it used to be good."
A- Hazy honey, with 1/4 finger white cloud head. Very low retention.
S- Best category here. Smells of some passionfruit, not sure if I can pinpoint it to guava considering I live in Colorado. The "malt" beverage follows... ugh. Not a fan of malt beverage.
T- That being said; the passionfruit was the best thing to add to this malt beverage base. I couldn't imagine not drainpour w/o guava. It has the traditional malt beverage taste.
M- A bit much carb for me; kinda harsh. Kinda creamy, kinda smooth. Nothing exceptional.
O- If I had another, I would find someone who likes the style and give it to them.
