I picked this one up at the Total Wine that is about a block from the brewery a few months ago.
A: So dark brown that it's almost ridiculous. I honestly can't tell if it's cloudy or not. The head was only a couple of shades lighter than the liquid below it.
S: Lots of aroma on this one: Hoppy for a nut brown for sure, but the brown sugar played second fiddle to the almond extract and candy sugar ("Payday" bar) that I got from this. Definitely a "double" nut brown.
T: I got CCB hop profile in there in spades! Additionally, the roasted nut taste was absolutely fantastic. Candy (burnt) sugar in spades, along with a good bit of sweet malt for backup.
M: Lots of lacing here on the glass and on the palate, but the journey was well worth it. This one was thick, but I could tell that the carbonation was meticulously calculated for this particular beer... and I thing that is the strongest aspect of this sucker. The creaminess is divine!
O: A B+ overall average huh? I thing by now I know a great beer in a particular style when I taste, see, and smell it, I based on that, I'm going to give this one my highest recommendation!
