A - Pours with a healthy head of off white foam on top of a hazy, amber brown body. The head settles at a moderate lace and leaves decent lace on the glass,

S - Brown, malty notes of toffee with lots of spices, including allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove.

T - Bready malt notes up front with some brown sugar. A bit of cinnamon and allspice in the middle. Finishes with clove, more dark sugar, and lightly herbal hops.

M - Medium thick body, moderately low carbonation, and a somewhat sweet finish.

D - Not bad, but I don't think it lives up to what some have said about it. Despite CCs penchant for high end spices, the pie character here is kind of bland and flabby with a malt character that only serves to reinforce that impression. I had this beer when it first came out and remember it being less sweet and spicy with more hops in the balance, but it has been so long that I might be misremembering it at this point.

A: no head to speak of on a murky brown with a marroon tinge. no lacing really.

S: lots of cinnamon, spices, pumpkin pie, nutmeg.

T: wow, this one has all of the flavors of the season without being too sweet. fresh pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar and maple wood.

M: medium body and moderate carbonation.

Overall: one of the best of this genre and style. Very flavorful, each flavor is well represented and distinct. a must try.

Presentation: 750 mL bottle chilled and poured into my Kate the Great tulip glass. Huge thanks to cfrances33 for this bottle.

Appearance: Medium brown in color with a slight one finger head. Decent retention, but eventually turns into a minimal lacing.

Aroma: Really interesting spice note upfront. Cinnnamon, clove, allspice and nutmeg all stand out. Some pumpkin and molasses tones complement the spice. I think the allspice note really seperates this from other pumpkin beers.

Taste: Again, big pumpkin pie spices dominate. Tons of bright allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon and clove all contribute. Manages to stay interesting and bright throughout. The spice tone is completely unique and intriguing. Brown sugar and molasses sweetness matches well with the pumpkin to create a really nice background. Really drinkable for the ABV.

Mouthfeel: Medium to full bodied. Lower than average carbonation.A bit syrupy.

Overall, a really unique, interesting and complex take on the pumpkin beer style. The spice note is one of a kind and doesn't overwhelm the base beer. One of my new favorites of this style. Definitely want to try this again. Balanced, smooth and complex.

22oz bottle thanks to johnyb. Poured into CCB snifter. Enjoyed as my Halloween beer!

A- Pours a orange reddish brown with a thin layer of yellowish brown head that quickly subsides to leave no head at all. Decent carbonation with consistently rising carbonation bubbles. Not much in terms of lacing.

S- Pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, and some other spices. Very nicely balanced without any spices dominating too much which I hate in a lot of pumpkin beers. About average aroma strength.

T- Nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin and some more cinnamon on the finish that lingers for a little bit. Nice flavorful balance between everything, if anything the cinnamon dominates a little bit, but not in a bad way (there's a lot of cinnamon beers I can't stand).

M- Fairly thin, nice carbonation, very easy to drink.

O- This was a fantastic pumpkin ale. Easily one of the best I've had. Pumpkin ales are not easy to master- a lot of breweries don't get enough pumpkin to come out and some overspice. CCB did a great job in creating this pumpkin ale and I highly recommend trying it out.

This beer got better as I drank it. It has a vanilla taste to it but the vanilla got stronger later on. It is defiantly a better tasting beer than Schlafly but it is not as good as Pumpking to me. I would say that Good Gourd is my top 5 pumpkin beers to date. This beer was hard to find. I ordered it from Letspour.com online since the beer is from Fla.

Got this one at Total Wine about 1 month ago and have looking forward to trying this one. I got two bottles; one for before Halloween and one to consume on Halloween. Lets give er a go.

Pours from a 750ml bottle into a Stella Artoios chalice type glass. Fills the glass with a chocolate amber colored beverage. There is a small wispy head that disappears almost immediately. There is no lacing and no retention. This was a bit of a bummer.

Aroma is very nice. Filled with the potpourri of pumpkin spices such as nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon, cloves, brown sugar, molasses, even a hint of chocolate and toffee. Rather complex. However, there is a bit of vegetable/cabbage that slightly detracts from the overall pleasantness of the aroma.

I liked the flavor. I still think Pumking is the king of pumpkin beers, but this one follows suit nicely. Slightly synthetic pumpkin flavors. There is a nice pumpkin pie and pumpkin cookie and pumpkin donut thing going on with the flavor. Very heavy on the spices, certainly the limit of spice flavor has been reached with this one. Quite bready. Kind of sweet and gets a little syrupy as it warms.

This was very enjoyable overall. Notmy favorite of the pumpkin beers, but this is definitely a solid beer in the category. Nice body, medium in the feel. Carbonation could be a little higher, but a nice ber.

Thanks to BeerGod1 for the bottle. Split with angrybabboon.

Appearance: Deep burnt orange. Head is white and leaves a small cap that's bubbly and tight. Slight chill haze. Some vague notions of lacing, but it might be imagined.

Smell: Super pumpkin pie levels of sweetness. Cinnamon, nutmeg and some hint of clove and allspice. Sweet bready malts. Some caramel malt undertones. Some sweet caramel candy flavors as well. Syrupy pumpkin flesh. Squashy goodness buried deep. The vegetable is earthy and squashy like it should be. Big sweetness. Very much like pie, including the bready, buttery crust.

Taste: Cinnamon and sugar toast if you made it out of pumpkin bread. Bready malts. Caramel sweetness. Huge hit of roasted malts. Pumpkin, squashy and real coupled with sweet canned pumpkin. Building cinnamon spiciness pushes through as the beer warms. Lots of clove, allspice, nutmeg. Cinnamon dominates. Big pie sweetness. Buttery crust. Graham crackers. Backing overall spiciness. Cooked malts. Deeply caramelized. Spiced decadence.

Mouthfeel: Moderate carbonation on an almost full, slightly syrupy body. Dry and sweet at the same time. Body drops as the beer warms and thins out drastically.

Overall: Pumpkin steroids.

This isn't a pumpkin so much as it is concentrated essence of pumpkin pie. So much spice and chewy malt the pumpkin loses out. If the spices dialed down a touch, this would be fantastic.
