750 ml bottle split and poured into a Sierra Nevada tulip. 11.5% ABV, no date.
Thanks to Beerwolf77 for cracking open another top 100!
A - This is probably the darkest beer I've ever poured. It's got absolutely no highlights in it at all. A tall chocolate-brown head is dense and firm after a little beautiful cascading. No lace but a swirl coats the glass in this motor-oil brew.
S - Dry cocoa powder and a mild but present chili powder in the nose right off the bat. It reminds me of some chili chocolate I had not too long ago actually. Tons of bittersweet chocolate with a rich chocolate roasted malt. Vanilla is very, very mild. Interesting, different, good.
T - Rich chocolate roasted malts and notes of cold coffee with cinnamon and chili mixing together. Lots of dry cocoa in there, it's a full-flavored beer that's a little all over the place but good regardless.
M - This is as full-bodied as they come, Hunahpu's is thick and smooth with a heavily roasted finish but a well-balanced sweet and acrid bitter feel. A teeny hint of warm alcohol creeps up on the finish.
D - Despite this beer's viscosity, it's actually quite drinkable. It's a bottle to be split without question, but still a great double stout!
