Big thanks to Sentz for being kind and generous enough to part with a bottle. After cellaring for 5 months discovered cap was slightly lifted and there was stickiness running down the side. But welcome hiss when popped - beer so thick it must have sealed again. Poured into a wine glass, enjoyed chilled on a winter porch and let it warm throughout the evening.
(A) Dark, pitch black. Pours thick as rich hot chocolate - color too. Rich deep reddish-brown head. Keep thinking gourmet hot chocolate.
(S) Dark chocolate, coffee nose. Wisp of fresh, spicy chili pepper.
(T) Wow wow wow. Rich, high quality, high % cacao. Spice more prevalent as warms. Coffee again. Slight cinnamon.
(M) Thick, silky, pure indulgence. Coats mouth and tongue. Like letting piece of chocolate melt on your tongue with a spicy kick. But not cloying, and still slightly prickly carbonation on tongue.
(D) Tremendous dessert beer to be split with a friend or brother-in-law, but when he doesn't show up even better as an all night sipper.
