A: Modest rusty brown colored head with decent retention settling to a film of small bubbles atop this deep dark brown beer. Brew looks thicks, like used motor oil. No lacing to speak of.
S: Vanilla, milk chocolate, toffee, and some spice. Was surprised the vanilla and spice notes were still so strong considering the vintage. Scent is quite robust and completely masks the high ABV.
T: Semi-sweet cocoa nibs are most prominent, love a stout that isn't overly sweet, followed by hints of spice and vanilla. Flavors permeate throughout the tasting, but never become dull or overwhelming.
M: Fairly heavy and lightly carbonated, just enough to keep the beer crisp following each tasting.
O: Very, very good beer. Would love to try again, but next time fresh.
