Reviewed from notes. 750ml bottle shared by Richard - thanks. 2014 Vintage.

A: Pours blacker than a moonless night with a half-inch thick mocha head which sits like a king and leaves streaks of lace.

N: Luscious dark chocolate, roasty malts, vanilla, peppery spices, cinnamon, faint coffee.

T: Follows nose with big roast, chocolate mole, vanilla, cinnamon. Very well balanced.

M: Full body and medium carbonation. Rich, full, decadent complex mix, finishes with peppery spice, vanilla, and roasted chocolate.

O: Whoa, a fresh bottle reminds me how good this is. Always a treat.

2011 vintage, poured at Chuck's CD bottle share.

Dark chocolate notes are dominant with cinnamon spice playing a supporting role. Vanilla and chili have pretty much faded at this point. Would love to try this fresh!

Chilies have faded and I get no heat. I also get no heat from the alcohol.

Had a significant dark fruit characteristic which faded as it warmed. It tastes like french toast sticks dipped in chocolate and coffee. The aftertaste is a pleasant roasty note.

Mounthfeel is incredibly huge rivaled only by room temp dark lord

This beer is incredible

2014. Thanks Chadwick for sharing. Pours pitch black with a thick mocha head that settles quickly into a foamy cap. Good lacing. Lots going on in the aroma - chocolate, coffee, vanilla, spiciness, roasted malt, and booze. Lots of roastiness on the tongue, dark chocolate, coffee and some decent chili heat make this a most complex stout. Full bodied with little carbonation. Overall, an extremely well crafted and incredibly complex stout.
