A: Pours a pitch black with a half finger chocolate head that dissipates to a sudsy top and lacing.
S: Cinnamon with sudle chocolate, molasses, and a light pepper burn on the nose.
T: This is very tasty. sweet chocolate, coffee, and cinnamon really balance well. A light chile burn, almost not even there though.
M: Silky smooth. Full body and heavy on the palate.
O: I love how everything blends perfectly together.

2014 vintage poured to a 2013 Hunahpu's snifter.

MIdnight black, 1/4" medium brown head. Poor retention, minimal lacing

Cinnamon. molasses, chocolate, and just a tinge of green chile. The peppers are much more pronounced as it warms.

Fresh, it's all cinnamon on the front end which meshes perfectly with the chiles mid palate and then finishes with a lingering chocolate flavor. Chicory, molasses, and maybe a touch of the vanilla. Fantastic. Just a hint of soy sauce flavor would be my only criticism.

Thick, syrupy, very low carbonation. mild chiles so just a hint of heat,

This is easily one of my favorite beers of all time, and although I prefer it with a bit of age, it's still top notch fresh.

2014 poured into a CCB snifter. Reviewed side by side with Prairie Bomb!. Consumed 3/28/14 - reviewed from notes.

A - Pitch black no head.

S - Apple cinnamon oatmeal overwhelms the nose, some chocolate and roast poke through with the slightest hint of pepper.

T - Pepper and Roast come out much more and balance the cinnamon, though it's still the forward flavor.

M - Viscous and velvety. So much sugar my lips feel like I just ate a plate of baby back ribs, I need a wet wipe. There's also some lingering heat on the inside of my mouth from the peppers.

O - An amazing use of all those adjunct harmoniously. Bomb! is a great beer in it's own right, but Huna blew it out of the water IMO.

Review #600
2014 vintage, poured into a snifter

A- pours a thick motor oil black color with a small dark tan head that has decent retention and short lasting lace as it settles

S- very reminiscent of a winter warmer style beer. Lots of cinnamon and nutmeg, a hint of spicy pepper on the nose, sweet vanilla, sandle wood, cherry cordial, cranberry spice

T- sweet fig and prune mix with vanilla and cinnamon, sweet toffee with tart notes of cherry and cranberry , very subtle heat kicks in near the finish, with a linger of dark fruit and graham cracker

M- thick and viscous body with low carbonation leads to a thick and creamy mouthfeel and a smooth finish, just a hint of alcohol warmth

O- this should be released at Christmas, as it's loaded with traditional Christmas flavors and aromas. Mouthfeel was nearly perfect the chili complimented nicely

Survived hunahpu day and brought this home.

Poured from 750ml into a tulip glass

A- so black, couldn't see through it with x-ray. There is a pretty good head on it that dissipates into a very thin lace. The head is a dark coffee brown.

S- I'm getting lots of sweet dark chocolate. Smells like a dove chocolate bar. There are also hints of coffee and cinnamon. The cinnamon is very very faint. Can't really smell the peppers at all. Chocolate completely dominates this beer in a very good way.

T- lots of chocolate coming through up front. Don't taste much coffee but the cinnamon is pretty well blended in there. It comes through between the chocolate and the peppers. There is a lot of pepper taste on the back end. The peppers are a little sweet and then switches to a little spicy but not overwhelming.

M- silky. Very very smooth with a full body. A little chewy. There a little kick from the peppers but really not much.

O- a very very nice beer. The peppers throw me off a little bit and give it a little kick. I'm not sure how i feel about the peppers but it is a very interesting additive. Got a few of these so i'll see how my taste buds change to it.

Sadly this one does not live up to the hype. Abraxas and Mexi Cake blow this one out and are much easier to obtain

Bottled 2/4/14

The pour is thick black oil. Leaves a quickly disappearing burgundy head that isn't very prevalent and doesn't leave much lacing.

Smell is incredible with a strong cinnamon accompanied with vanilla. Booze smell comes in as well.

Taste is great with a lot of cinnamon, vanilla and dark chocolate with a little booze warmth coming in too. No Chile's to taste or smell from this beer like it says on the label.

Mouth feel has a great carbonation for just a split second on your tongue to start. The flavor lingers around nicely on your tongue.

Overall a great beer that I was greatful to have and need yo get more of.

Poured into a tulip glass. Minimal head. Nice burgandy swirls and bubbles around the rim. Smell is great. A lot of cinnamon. Vanilla, some spice, chocolate. The taste follows the nose with the vanilla and cinnamon up front. Such a great blend of the two flavors. Mouthfeel is kinda thin. Nice carbonation for what it is. As it warms you get a little spice at the end. Nice beer with a lot of flavor. Would be nice on a really cold night.
