Black, motor oil viscous pour with tan head reducing to some light lacing. Aroma is highlighted by chiles, vanilla and sweet, roasty malt. Taste is sweet, heavy on the cinnamon, with highlights of vanilla, cocoa, marshmallow and finishes with spicy chilies. Not very spicy but builds as you drink and is a nice complement to the sweetness. The mouthfeel is chewy and viscous with light carbonation. Wow is this beer intense and challenging to drink. A great beer but it's a bit too much. A little too sweet, a little too much cinnamon and a little too thick. Great complexity, nice level of spiciness and an overall interesting experience I would like to revisit at some point.

2010 Bottle acquired in a trade with Danwho. Tasted side-by-side with Bomb!
A- Possibly the blackest, thickest, meanest looking beer I have ever seen. It just slides into the glass like chocolate syrup. Stains the glass.
S- Ancho chilies, chocolate, caramel, and surprisingly, teriyaki
T- Sweet and smooth. Caramel, maple syrup, brown sugar, and spice on the back end. My only complaint is that it is so sweet it's almost cloying. I can seriously feel my blood sugar levels rising.
M- Wow. Thick as can be without literally chewing to get it down. Very sweet and sticky. Alcohol there, but no burn.
O- Expectations were set pretty high, and it lived up to them for the most part. This thing was delicious, but I was glad to have a couple people to share it with as it was a little too sweet for me to handle a full bottle alone. Tasted side-by-side with Bomb, it was clear that Bomb is quite better.
