A: Deep mahogany in color and slightly hazy, Maduro displays a creamy head and plenty of lacing.
S: The bouquet is timid, but suggests caramel, brown sugar, and toffee.
T: Slightly sweet and tart, displaying notes of molasses, caramel, and almonds. Very enjoyable.
M: Clean and crisp with a medium body. Carbonation just barely makes an appearance.
D: This is a great representation of the style, avoiding the usual pitfalls that American micro's fall prey to: under attenuation and excessive sweetness being the first ones that come to mind. I really enjoy this brown ale, and will return to it again.
On a side note, BA has this listed as an oatmeal brown ale, when the label explicitly states that it is an all malt ale. The word oatmeal doesn't make any appearance on the label. Where did this come from?

12oz can. Canned 6/5/2014. Served in a tumbler
Appearance: Pours a dark brown color with 1 finger of a soapy light tan head that dissipates quickly. Body is dark with small amounts of light visible around the edges of the glass.
Smell: Chocolate, toffee, bready malt, nuts, slight coffee as well.
Taste: Sweet malt, chocolate, slight roastiness, earth and very mild coffee presence.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a slightly creamy mouthfeel and medium levels of fine carbonation. Semi sweet finish.
Overall: Really nice malty brown ale. Tasty and easy to drink.
