12oz can into a tulip
A: Pours brown with a nice off-white head that fades to a ring and leaves a bit of lacing on the glass.
S: The nose is sweeter than I expected with notes of vanilla, raisins, cocoa, and chocolate malt.
T: The taste is much like the nose with good flavors of chocolate malt, raisins, and a touch of vanilla on the finish. Sweet but not overly so and the roasted malt adds a touch of bitterness to keep it from being cloying.
M: The feel is par for the style...light-medium bodied with good carbonation. Although my can didn't say anything about Oatmeal I expected a bit more body on this one.
O: Typical run of the mill Brown Ale...maybe a bit sweeter than others. Not sure I'd go out of my way to get this one but I was glad to have tried it.

"Maduro Brown Ale. Hints of caramel, toffee, chocolate and espresso are all on display in this complex, but approachable brown ale. A great 'food beer', Maduro pairs equally well with sweet chocolate based desserts as it does with roasted meat." Brewed in the style of an English Brown Ale.
Poured from a 12 oz. bottle to a snifter. Served north of 61º Fahrenheit.
(Appearance) Pours a thick crispy chocolate cream head over a deep burgundy brown body with ample carbonation. Retention is average at best, lacing is light and spotty. 3.25
(Smell) Aroma is sweet, roasty and creamy altogether. Medium roasted brown malts, creamy molasses, caramel and toffee build a complex, moist and sweet body. Hints of chocolate, dark roasted coffee linger in the back. Nutty, sweet malt character. Potency is medium-high. 4.25
(Taste) Upfront, sweet molasses malts, a pinch of smoke, some mild earthy sweetness for a deep, complex malt body. The finish is accentuated by an earthy hop blend with a subdued bitterness. This has quite an enjoyable and complex flavor for a Brown Ale. 4.25
(Mouthfeel) Texture is slick, mildly chewy, roasty. Carbonation generates a smooth silkiness for a complimentary mouthfeel. Body is medium+ for the style and medium+ overall. Alcohol presence is low. 3.75
(Overall) One of Cigar City's finest year round offerings, with just about everything a Brown Ale could offer. Great flavor, balance and drinkability makes Maduro a return beverage for anybody who can get their hands on a can or two. Most certainly worth a try for those who haven't found a winner Brown Ale. 4

12oz can. Canned 6/5/2014. Served in a tumbler
Appearance: Pours a dark brown color with 1 finger of a soapy light tan head that dissipates quickly. Body is dark with small amounts of light visible around the edges of the glass.
Smell: Chocolate, toffee, bready malt, nuts, slight coffee as well.
Taste: Sweet malt, chocolate, slight roastiness, earth and very mild coffee presence.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a slightly creamy mouthfeel and medium levels of fine carbonation. Semi sweet finish.
Overall: Really nice malty brown ale. Tasty and easy to drink.
