A: Very Dark and Hazy Reddish Brown with a small tan head and great lacing.
S: Sweet Dark Roasty and chocolaty grains. some hops.
T: Dark Tootsie Roll like Chocolate character along with dark fruits and sweet maduro-esque cigar qualities. subtle hop and oat flavors.
MF: The slick oatmeal goodness hits right away. Nice and creamy. moderate carbonation. Sweet finish.
D: A great brown ale. Not as wonderful as their Cubano Espresso Maduro Oatmeal Brown, but still great. So glad this is in bottles now.

Pours a bronzey brown colour, quite a few floaties in my glass. Head is enormous, but lovely. Bit too big, but good.
Smells like coffee upfront but it gives way to strong grainy-sweet: smells like a grain bag, touch of caramel, carob and a wet wool note. Crystal grain, mostly. Not bad.
Taste is more roasty. Has a nice dark caramel upfront that develops peppery espresso roast, then more chocolatey on the back, slight hint of vegemite but nice bittersweet cocoa finish. Quite simple, but very pleasant, subtle drinking.
Bit sizzly and dry. Could use a lot more body.
A bit hit and miss, but the taste (most important) is nice and smooth and well-balanced. That's what counts.

"Maduro Brown Ale. Hints of caramel, toffee, chocolate and espresso are all on display in this complex, but approachable brown ale. A great 'food beer', Maduro pairs equally well with sweet chocolate based desserts as it does with roasted meat." Brewed in the style of an English Brown Ale.
Poured from a 12 oz. bottle to a snifter. Served north of 61º Fahrenheit.
(Appearance) Pours a thick crispy chocolate cream head over a deep burgundy brown body with ample carbonation. Retention is average at best, lacing is light and spotty. 3.25
(Smell) Aroma is sweet, roasty and creamy altogether. Medium roasted brown malts, creamy molasses, caramel and toffee build a complex, moist and sweet body. Hints of chocolate, dark roasted coffee linger in the back. Nutty, sweet malt character. Potency is medium-high. 4.25
(Taste) Upfront, sweet molasses malts, a pinch of smoke, some mild earthy sweetness for a deep, complex malt body. The finish is accentuated by an earthy hop blend with a subdued bitterness. This has quite an enjoyable and complex flavor for a Brown Ale. 4.25
(Mouthfeel) Texture is slick, mildly chewy, roasty. Carbonation generates a smooth silkiness for a complimentary mouthfeel. Body is medium+ for the style and medium+ overall. Alcohol presence is low. 3.75
(Overall) One of Cigar City's finest year round offerings, with just about everything a Brown Ale could offer. Great flavor, balance and drinkability makes Maduro a return beverage for anybody who can get their hands on a can or two. Most certainly worth a try for those who haven't found a winner Brown Ale. 4
