Pours black as the moonless night with a milkchocolate colored head. Very little head and negligible lacing.
Smell is absolutely wonderful. Sharp and clean. Some alcohol, some oak, and a bit of dark fruits -- especially cherry. It smells a bit like a manhatten, actually.
The taste is dark chocolate covered cherries soaked in a nice single malt. Just the right amount of alcohol and oak flavors. Tons of flavor and complexity.
I wish it were a bit softer in the carbonation but the carbonation is light on the tongue. The beer also leaves a nice, sticky texture on the tongue and coats the throat with it's goodness.
This is absolutely fantastic. My last bottle and I wish I could drink it over and over again.

Thanks to Chris (spycow) for this one! Poured into Narke tulip.
A - Pours black, mocha-colored head, spotty lace, thin collar.
S - Smooth booze, chocolate, burnt sugars, light roast. Very -bal like here with the sweetness and booze. Very rich and dessert-like.
T - Chocolate, booze, whiskey, light roast, oak. Really nice and smooth with the whiskey...I think the extra time in the bottle did this one some good.
M - Medium to full, a bit too thin, light carbonation, creamy finish.
O - Very solid, enjoyable, smooth, and rich. I would def have this one again. CCB is one of the best -bal beer producing breweries out there, and this early example is yet another reason why I love their -bals. Yes, I love -bals. Recommend.

Thanks to Chris aka spycow for busting this rarity out.
A - Black beer with a brown head. Really looks like the non-BA version.
S - Some whiskey, vanilla, oak, a touch of booze. A decent bit of sweetness and chocolate and a touch of roast.
T - Vanilla and oak, with some whiskey and chocolate. I like the barrel presence on this one, although it does cover up the roastier notes of the beer a little bit. Nice sweetness with the chocolate.
M - Medium carbonation, kind of medium bodied.
O - Good beer, didn't disappoint. Very solid BA beer that I'd love to drink again.

cracked for the hell of it tonight because we wanted to do something rare, this was certainly pretty damn rare for sure. split into twin snifters.
dark inky black with a creamy brown head that rose up to a height of two fingers before settling down and dropping tons of lacing up and down the sides of the glass. really a very full looking beer.
aroma is deep bourbon. lots of vanilla and oakey notes that start to fill the air from the very first moment. sweet and full of character the rich chocolate notes that really fill the air. thick molasses and rich sweet vanilla notes just fill the flavor. thick an full the profile is outstanding. it seems the bourbon is really taking a hold of this beer and running with it. simply astoundingly smooth with not even a touch of alcohol

Entering a bit of a backlog here. Bottle generously shared by Urbancaver (thanks Cam!).
Pours a very viscous, evil black color with a tannish/brown head. Looks really nice. The smell is big charred chocolate, molasses, vanilla, a hint of dark fruit and a touch of bourbon. A lot of interesting stuff in there. The taste is a lot like the nose - charred malts, chocolate, a hint of dark fruit, bourbon. It closes aggressively charred/roasted, maybe a bit too dry for me. The mouthfeel is heavy and huge with enough carbonation to make you feel right about that. Overall, I would have enjoyed this beer more if the finish was toned down a bit. It detracted too much from the experience and came off overroasted and over done. That said, this had huge, interesting flavor and was a joy to get to try.

Pours a pitch black amazingly dark brown, very thick. Great appearance. A nice solid brown head. Beautiful beer. Smells strongly of dark chocolate and bitter roasted malts. A solid aroma. Tastes chocolatey with a nice solid bourbon along side. Oak heavy on the noses and tongue. Very solid thick brew. Overall top notch. A very solid showing from cigar city
