Many thanks to Gtreid for this 750mL bottle shared with a buddy, poured into a shaker pint glass.

A- A deep hearty ruby amber color with two fingers of white head that dissipates into thin covering. Lots of spider web lacing on the glass that indicates a very healthy beer.

S- Had the exact same nose as the Jai Alai IPA. Lots of tropical citrus hops hit first followed by a rich bill of sweet smelling malt. I was expecting to smell some papaya, but I couldn't detect any. Still a good smelling beer; though it would have rated better if it differed from the regular IPA.

T- Good. The papaya makes a great subtle appearance right away. It is replaced by tropical fruits and floral hops. Finishes with a bitter pine taste. Some sweet malt comes through to balance it out. Except for the subtle hints of papaya, this one tastes almost identical to Jai Alai, which isn't a bad thing.

M- Medium body with correct amount of carbonation that accentuates the myriad of flavors especially the papaya. Slightly oily.

O- I liked it. Though it is almost identical to Jai Alai, the subtle papaya gives it an interesting difference that makes it worth trying. It was an extremely easy drinker that I will gladly try to acquire again.

Reviewed from notes. Pours a deep orange with minimal head and nice clarity. Moderate lacing left behind. The nose is fruit forward with tropical papaya qualities coming on strong, waves of fruit countered by a decent malt depth. The taste is slightly syrupy with a nice tropical fruit profile that melds well with the sturdy malt backbone. The mouthfeel is medium with high carbonation. Overall, there is a nice feature of fruit here, but it comes off as being a malt forward IPA which seems a touch counterproductive to its concept.

Hazy orange to copper, nice sustaining head with great lace. Smells of papaya, tropical IPA all the way. Aroma comes through as quick as a Matt Ryan pass on the Eagles defense. Sweetness and grapefruit, orange peel, but overwhelming citrus sugar. Smells almost diabetic.

The taste is slightly disappointing, if only because it fits a more standard IPA mold. Wonderful smell, but the front of the taste only has a little papaya and is mostly grapefruit, moving to malts in the middle and drying at the back. Less than fantastic.

That said, it's got a medium body, sweet and dry finish, and great carbonation, so it's a quality beer that smells excellent, which half the time is all you really need.

A: Lightly hazy dark amber in color. Forms a bubbly off-white head that leaves some light lacing.

S: Tropical fruits and some citrus hops. Then a woodsy quality, a bit of malt and some sweet floral hops.

T: Bitter and malty with very little papaya flavor. Starts with a relatively strong maltiness, then grapefruit. Some tropical fruit in the mix, but to a much lesser extent. Bitter and fairly one dimensional.

M: Medium bodied with appropriate carbonation and a strong, unbalanced bitterness.

O: Bitter and malty with only a hint of papaya flavor. Drinkable, but unbalanced and one dimensional.
