Pours a hazy, orange-gold with a two-finger head in a DFH goblet. Rich smells of wood and vanilla predominate. Really pretty.
Taste-wise, this is a special IPA. Wonderful tropical notes of pineapple and a hint of coconut; I get the sense that this is an IPA with a crush on a pina colada. An orange peel note ties the fruits to the hoppy finish. For a brief second, it also has a saison feel to it. The finish is dry and bitter, with the oak coming through and smoothing the body and mouthfeel out. The citrusy hop bitterness lingers just long enough until your next sip.
Extremely original and very tasty. Excellent and a must-try if you have the chance. I'd love to pair this up with sweet and sour rabbit...yum!

A - light IPA in appearance. Looks light and refreshing in glass.
S - Hop city here with a dash of sweaty old gym sock. Funk Town, USA.
T - kind of disappointing. This is a workout. Albeit, I am not a serious hophead, I do appreciate a good IPA. This thing is a workout. Seriously bitter, I don't see that the oak age mellowed this guy out too much. Lots of bite, I can't see doing more than two of these in a day. If bitter hop taste is your thing, go for it.
M - nothing to see here. Not very memorable.
O - picked this up because I am visiting family in the Tampa area and I had heard positive buzz about cigar city and this beer. I'll pass on this one if I see it again.
