Notes/Commercial Description:
This is an American White Oak-aged version of Jai Alai India Pale Ale. The white oak adds smoothing notes of vanilla and slight hints of dill to the aroma and flavor profile. The finish is elegantly dry due to the light tannin notes from oak aging and though still loaded with hop flavor, hop bitterness is more restrained.

Canned 9/9/2014. Poured into Spieglau IPA glass.

Opaque orange in color with one finger of white head. Good retention and lacing. Citrus on the nose plus tropical fruits. Very similar to Jai Alai. Good mouth feel with fairly light carbonation. Taste is sweet citrus, orange/tangerine. Maybe pineapple and mango, hint of lime. Bitterness muted by vanilla and wood (but not smoke). Very smooth finish. Liked it better than "regular" Jai Alai!

Crowler from a trade with Brian. Love this guy. Thanks, man!

A- I'm on my second pour, so there's some sediment in here. Other than that, it's a lovely, clear bronze. Finger and a half of head with decent retention. Fades to a nice cap, leaving lacing on the glass.

S- Really interesting. Certainly some piney, resinous, and grassy hops with some citrus rind. Smells super green. Like pine trees in the spring. Touch of caramel. An herbal influence as well. Real nice.

T- You get the malty sweetness up front, then pine on the finish. Wood aging compliments this nicely, taking the edge off of the bittering hops. But, due to freshness, those hops still have a say. Love the flavor profile.

M- Medium carbonation, medium mouthfeel. This is smooth, clean drinking.

O- It's been some time since I last had regular Jai Alai, but, from what I remember, I like this much more. Beautiful nose and flavors. Would gladly drink this again.
