This is an American White Oak-aged version of Jai Alai India Pale Ale. The white oak adds smoothing notes of vanilla and slight hints of dill to the aroma and flavor profile. The finish is elegantly dry due to the light tannin notes from oak aging and though still loaded with hop flavor, hop bitterness is more restrained.

Really great beer. Finally got some to try some of this. My can is only 7 days old. Man it doesn't get much more fresh then this.

Can't say I prefer this to reg Jai Alai but it does stand up there.

On draft at CCB, served in a Spiegelau snifter. Pours a dark golden color, almost amber. Nose is coconut with an oak finish. Taste is tropical fruit, vanilla, hops, with a slightly dry and bitter finish. Super smooth. One of my all-time favorites from CCB.

Canned 9/9/14 so I let it sit for a while. Pours a cloudy orange with a good amount of white head. Leaves plenty of lacing on the glass. In the nose you get the unmistakable characteristic of an oak aged beer. Some vanilla and earthiness with some orange. Taste is very well balanced between orange and grapefruit from the original Jai Alai and the vanilla and earthiness from the oak. The bitterness is definitely smoothed out from the oak aging. Mouthfeel is a little thick but overall smooth and easy to drink. Good amount of carbonation. Overall, a very good variation on the original Jai Alai. It's definitely a unique experience as the flavors you get from the oak are that of what you might expect in a barrel aged barleywine or scotch ale. But, if I had the choice I would stick to the original. This is definitely something worth trying though.
