Fresh from Florida with a date of 2/18/14

A - Pours out a cloudy light red with a bunch of hop sediment flouting around. Has a two finger frothy off yellowish off white head. Well carbonated.

S - Hops come through on the nose with a piney citrus follow with a bready sweet maltiness and some earthyness.

T - Sweet malt breadiness, caramel, followed by the piny citrus earthyness that drys out. Balanced from malts to hops and pretty smooth and enjoyable.

M - Medium to full bodied smooth with nice carbonation. Dry on the mouth leaving you wanting more.

O - Very enjoyable red ale that is balance with pronounce malt and hop profiles. Not a beginner beer for a red ale coming in at over 7 % abv.

Disclaimer: I've mostly been on a hop kick with IPAs & DIPAs.

However, this was an excellent red ale. Fantastic smell and with great mouth feel and taste.

Found a 6-er of this 3 days old and figured I would finally try it...glad I did.

A refreshing ale and a good benchmark for this style, though I'm not that prevalent in this style currently.

Let me start by saying that cigar city should please come to Michigan. This ale pours a handsome amber red color With a generous frothy white head that lasts throughout the pour. It leaves a decent amount of lacing. The nose is balanced with a tremendous amount of hops and a very nice amount of malt. It is sweet but bitter all at once. The body is medium in nature with a lot of coating of hoppy resin and sweet malts. The flavor begins with an ipas generosity of hops followed by the sweet balance of roasty malts. This is a delicious ale with an almost unheard of amount of balance. Thus is a greatly crafted ale from a brewer that is quickly impressing me more and more.
