Thanks to cubanbeerguy for the extra. Bottle says 7.2% ABV. Tasted 25 August 2013.

Pours a lightly hazy rusty amber color. One finger of very light tan head. Good retention and fantastic lacing, with a ring of bubbles around the surface.

Smell is really nice, though I'm having a hard time describing it. It's light on the malts, just a touch toasty, dark grains like rye, but mostly clean. Spicy! A bit herbal. Delicate but complex. Very nice.

Taste is interesting; it's about 2/3 of the smell. Has the grainy malts, spice that's sometimes only a light touch and other times pretty assertive, and a mild bitter swing in the back-end. It's funny; it drifts between boring and good. On balance, it's closer to good.

Feel is good. Medium-bodied, medium-high carbonation. Lasts just the right amount of time, going-staying-almost-staying and then poof it's gone.

I like this beer. It's more spicy than anything else. A spicy red ale is something I don't remember having before, but I'm really enjoying it.

smells hoppy with a nice slight hint of malt. This beer taste solid. really nice red ale effort, nice main rotation beer for CCB. Maybe a touch heavy for a red ale, specially one with this intermediate alch %.

Not my favorite red ale or CCB. Worth trying though.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a stemmed tulip glass provided by to cparles as an extra in a trade (Thanks!!).

A: A nice deep red, mahogany color, clear but lots of floaties. Pours to 1-2 fingers of thick tan head settling to a thick collar and leaving some lacing.

S: An interesting nose. Lots of sweet, caramel malt, almost bready with some biscuit aroma. Mild hops but a nice suite of American bittering hops are present with their telltale spiciness, maybe some sweet juicy fruit in the background.

T: As the aroma predicted, the beer starts off malt forward, sweet and rich hinting at caramel, bread, yeast and biscuits. The hops come second and dry the beer out nicely leaving a very pleasant, lingering bitterness. The finish is long and dry and yet remains clean.

M: Medium body, very smooth and round; medium carbonation.

O: A delicious beer and marks very well, except for the floaties. Tocobaga achieves a nice balance of deep maltiness and hop bitterness and remains highly drinkable. It opened up nicely as the beer warmed.

Tocobaga and the Humidor IPA are my two favorite regular Cigar City beers. The only place you can find it consistently in bottles is at the brewery. They are going to be canning both beers in the very near future. CCB has been using a I'm glad I live a couple miles away.
