This saison pours hazy to clear straw in color with notes of honey and tropical fruit. Flavor has tropical fruit with a lemony bitterness and hints of clove in the finish. Sorachi Ace and Citra hops add lots of flavor to this small, sessionable beer.

Great saison on a hot day. Rated 5% abv. Wild yeast aromas are yummy. Cloudy yellow with tons of lace, only a little head. Carbonation right there. White pepper and a tad of cayene. Great drinkability, refreshes in the early summer weather.
On tap at the brewery.

On tap at Capone's.

Pours a clear yellow with a moderate white head and some spotty lacing on the way down. The nose brings some light saison yeast and a bit of light straw. Mildly earthy. The flavor kicks it up a notch with a good dosing of slightly-spicy and earthy saison yeast along with some straw and grain. Light all around, though the yeast takes the front seat. Good flavor. Light and crisp with high carbonation. Nothing too eventful, but really drinkable and a nice all-around brew on a hot summer day.

A: The beer is hazy pale yellow in color. It poured with a finger high white head that gradually died down and left some lacing on the surface and a ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: There are light aromas of lemon and nondescript malts in the nose.
T: The taste has some initial hints of sweetness and is followed by flavors of bready and grainy malts along with lemon from the Sorachi Ace hops.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. There is some dryness in the finish.
O: This is an average saison but has some interesting properties imparted by the Sorachi Ace hops.

Appearance: A frothy pale white head forms atop the hazy amber liquid; clumps of lace stick to the side of the glass on the way down

Smell: Pear and floral perfume, with an herbal spice aspect

Taste: After a toffee sweetened start, the floral and pear elements add additional sweetness that is balanced out, by mid-palate, with bitter, herbal undertones; the finish has both the pear fruit and herbal bitter flavors

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with low carbonation; a bit watery

Overall: A bit sweeter than I prefer but still a nice saison, overall; like the low abv but the body does suffer, as a result

a treat i got to try in tampa, and i have to say their lighter beers impress the hell out of me.

Nice head of three inches or more caps off the top of the glass and falls down effortlessly into a broken and rocky cushion of foam. Light aroma of bananas and pears, hints of light peach and a floral, albeit light hop note to it. Warming brings out a touch of grain that serves to balance it quite nicely. Smooth, elegant flavor. Light notes of fruit, touches of grass and a slight floral flavor all combine quite nicely.

A: cloudy and golden. Minimal head.

S: lots of lemon. Some spice.

T: lots of lemon throughout. Sweet start and sour finish. Little of the spicey saison yeast with bread and light malt notes.

M: light body mild to moderate carbonation.

Overall: reminds me of a lemonade beer like I had in vienna but much better. Different from other saisons. A little off from the typical saison but very enjoyable.

From 06/22/12 notes. Had on tap at the Blind Tiger in NYC. Served in a pint glass.

a - Pours a hazy golden yellow color with moderate carbonation evident and one inch of bright white head.

s - Smells of bananas, spices, cloves, pepper, yeast, bready malts, light citrus hops. Very nice nose.

t - Tastes of pepper, spices, bananas, yeast, citrus hops, yeast. More pepper than the nose and less hops; a step down for me.

m - Medium body and moderate to high carbonation. Pretty easy to drink.

o - Overall a pretty nice beer, though the taste was a little lacking and had too much pepper for me. I was hoping for more hops overall after seeing the description, but it still has a nice nose and is very easy to drink. Good for a summer day, would have it again.

Poured on-tap at the Cigar City Brewing tasting room in Tampa. The beer was served in a pint glass, and it poured a very light, bright copper coloring with no head to speak of. Wine-like aromas of grape and date, with slight souring, but overly sweet. Flavors are tart citrus/grapefruit initially, with a smooth and slightly smokey transition. The aftertaste is slightly grapefruit, which dries and puckers on the finish. Good, rich flavors.

Growler courtesy of markwise, shared at the March iteration of the Santa Cruz tasting series. Pours a dusty bronze color, neither clear nor quite opaque. Aroma is wheaty with pale malts and a nonspecific tart fruitiness. flavor is similar, banana esters recall hefeweizen, while watery maltiness proves somewhat refreshing. Somewhat tart but not crisp on the finish. Drinkable but more wheat/blonde than saison.

32oz growler into a Weyerbacher tulip.

A: Clear pale gold body with a finger of coarse white foam that settles into a ring. Nice.

S: Light and fresh. Biscuity malt, lively esters, spicy phenols. Dry minerality. Good.

T: Spice up front, followed by some lightly bready malt. Very clean, but this is where the low ABV hurts it - it's pretty watery.

M: Light and lively, full of creamy carbonation. Great.

O: I'm scoring this a bit higher for overall than the average of the other categories, just because I'm so pleased to see a great brewery producing a beer that combines classic Belgian flavors with session-strength ABV. This beer, while clearly lacking the intensity of practically all normal Saisons, nevertheless provides a classic and refreshing twist on the style. I'd gladly quaff a pint of this after mowing the lawn.

Cheers!
