Notes & Commercial Description:
Beer added by: babaracas on 11-27-2010

This saison pours hazy to clear straw in color with notes of honey and tropical fruit. Flavor has tropical fruit with a lemony bitterness and hints of clove in the finish. Sorachi Ace and Citra hops add lots of flavor to this small, sessionable beer.

Nice saison.... golden glowing body. Lots of fast rising bubbles but low head retention. Nose had a little saison yeast aroma. Taste was more noticeable. Very solid saison flavor, bigger body as expected than typical style. Driking this on tap at speckled hen and pairing it up with some seared scallops.

On tap at the brewery. Poured into a tasting glass.

A: Clear straw yellow color. I would have thought this would be a bit cloudy, but I digress. Small pure white head, nice retention and lace.

A: Belgian yeast, light malts, and small citrus. Absolutly no hint of alcohol.

T: Again, much of the same. Yeasty malts, with a small earthy hop profile. The yeast is distinct and welcomed. Finishes dry.

M: Light body, good carbonation. Pretty crisp and clean.

O: Nice, light session strength saison. One that I would love to have a few of by the pool or the ocean. Skal.

World of Beers - UCF, Orlando. Musty yeasty aromas with sweet malts. Pours a hazy yellow orange with a thick white head. Funky malty with citrus notes and sweet bready malts with spicy yeast flavors, coriander and nutmeg with hints of cinnamon. Clean refreshing finish. Great session brew!!!!

Appearance: A frothy pale white head forms atop the hazy amber liquid; clumps of lace stick to the side of the glass on the way down

Smell: Pear and floral perfume, with an herbal spice aspect

Taste: After a toffee sweetened start, the floral and pear elements add additional sweetness that is balanced out, by mid-palate, with bitter, herbal undertones; the finish has both the pear fruit and herbal bitter flavors

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with low carbonation; a bit watery

Overall: A bit sweeter than I prefer but still a nice saison, overall; like the low abv but the body does suffer, as a result

Pours a golden haze, half finger frothy white head, Very Nice lacing

Smells fruity, banana crisp, clean, slight hefeweizen appeal.

well carbonated, light bodied

Light, fruity, slight souring towards the very back of the tongue as the last flavor

Very nice, favorite saison Ive had thus far.

32oz growler into a Weyerbacher tulip.

A: Clear pale gold body with a finger of coarse white foam that settles into a ring. Nice.

S: Light and fresh. Biscuity malt, lively esters, spicy phenols. Dry minerality. Good.

T: Spice up front, followed by some lightly bready malt. Very clean, but this is where the low ABV hurts it - it's pretty watery.

M: Light and lively, full of creamy carbonation. Great.

O: I'm scoring this a bit higher for overall than the average of the other categories, just because I'm so pleased to see a great brewery producing a beer that combines classic Belgian flavors with session-strength ABV. This beer, while clearly lacking the intensity of practically all normal Saisons, nevertheless provides a classic and refreshing twist on the style. I'd gladly quaff a pint of this after mowing the lawn.

Cheers!

A table strength saison in the CCB tasting room brewed on their pilot system. Served in a pint glass, a hazy light amber with small foamy white head that left a few spots of lace on the way down. Smell: decorative soaps, light spicy hops, apricot, a little hay, pils malt, and a hint of banana. Taste: base of light pils malt, relaxed spicy hopping, clove and lemon. Not-unpleasant steely note towards the end of the sip is more a function of feel than taste. Not the most involved saison in their lineup but a tasty session option.

Had this on-tap and from a growler. Given the opportunity to warm up from tap temp it opens up nicely...more hay/grain, less soap.

First beer at World of Beer, Fort Myers, FL - 9/28/2011.

Into a tulip, this appears cloudy and golden with two fingers of billowing white head that retains adequately while also displaying some clinging abilities.

Nose is yeasty, full of lemon peel and spice with some breadiness to it as well. Not as robust as other Saisons, but this is called a "table saison", so the mild nature is to be expected.

Lemon and tropical pineapple dominate out of the gate, giving way to clove and some herbal presence, finishing with a moderate hop bitterness. Grain and malt permeates throughout the beer, contributing balance to the ever so light sour tang from the citrus.

Light bodied, this is obviously easy drinking and quite sessionable at 4.5%.

Not a bad Saison; I get what they were trying to do and I think it works. This is a crisp, refreshing and affordable beer for those who really enjoy the style, but don't want to break the bank on bolder options. Cheers!

Pours a pale yellow with a finger sized off white head that laces well.

Aroma is light tropical fruits with a good dose of spice lots of peppery notes. Nose is not really funky as some Saison's but still nice and refreshing.

Taste is like the nose bready malts with lots of fruity notes. Lots of spice here big on pepper notes mixed with some lemon grass.

Mouthfeel is spot on for style light carbonation is a little mellow but I like that.

Overall not a complex Saison but very thirst quenching and tasty. Would not mind having this on my table every night while its warm out. It would be perfect if it was a little funky but not complaining.
