A: real nice velvet glisten pour. Aggressive head (Haha) that starts with 3 fingers and keeps a real nice layer on top.

S: smells choclaty like a tootsie roll. Has a nice mocha latte coffee loveliness. Reminds me of chocolate milk and malted milk balls with a bit more sweetness to it. Hints of roasty oats and a touch of alcohol

T: way more raisins in the taste. Has a little of a burnt raisin sweetness to it. I really wish I knew what the spices were because I can't place it at all. I breathe a nice roast chocolate but less coffee than the smell. It has a slight tartness which I assume is from the acidic roasted grains

M: mouthfeel is really delightful. Once again mocha latte like. Smooth and creamy but finishes super dry which is totally unexpected.

O: the appearence and smell gives great anticipation. The taste pulls you in a different direction leaving myself wondering what's going on trying to figure out exactly what im tasting but it sure is delicious. I really enjoyed this beer and am very happy to be sipping on this

Hunahpu Day 2013 pour #4. Listed as 2011 vintage. Makes sense. Pours black with tan head. Roasty, hoppy chocolate smell, heavy on the roasted grain. Hmmm. Sour roasted grain taste, very sweet, too. There is some bit of chocolate, but it is mostly this big roasty flavor that does not jibe with the sourness. Heavy mouthfeel as with other stouts, but cut through a bit by the sourness. Not sure I am into this one. The flavors don't seem to meld well. Thick mouthfeel with low to medium carbonation. I wonder if this keg they were pouring was contaminated.

750 mL bottle poured into a wine glass.

Appearance - Viscous black body. No head while it pours, but a mocha head wells up at the end. Glass staining, like other CCB stouts.

Smell - Ouch, metallic and acidic. This smells way past its prime. Lots of dark fruits and raisins, but it's got a sharp acidic character. Dark chocolate and very dark roasted malts.

Taste - Equally harsh. Intense tang and metallic flavors. Raisins still strong. Dark chocolate, coffee, and very dark burnt malts. Acrid finish.

Mouthfeel - Thick. Sharp acidity. Medium low carbonation.

Overall - Wish I'd rated it long ago. But it serves to know that this is no longer any good.

Poured from the bottle into a standard pint glass.

Pours black as night with a finger of dark tan head. Head fades to a ring. Smell is sweet with smoke and roast. Some mild dark fruit as well. Taste isn't nearly as sweet as Dirac. Mild smoke with more sweet fruit than the smell. No real spice here. Thick body, but less than Dirac.
