on tap at the CCB tasting room

A- Hazy orange body with a small white head

S- Orange and some creamy sweetness

T- Tropical fruits and creamy orange that balance with the normal jai alai taste

M- Full-bodied, sticky and creamy

D- Not the best Jai Alai incarnation but this is not bad at all. Better than the regular blood orange variant with this one's nice mouthfeel

Of the many treatments of Jai Alai I've had, this is perhaps the least remarkable.

A - It is a deep amber hue, darker than the normal Jai Alai; less head and lace, too.

S - The brew smells quite piney, herbal and resiny; little of the usual citrus of the base beer is discernible, which is certainly counterintuitive. Overall, heavy bitterness, not a lot of definition or subtlety.

T - The taste is a continuation of the themes of the nose, with the blood orange making little or no citrus contribution, and I find nothing creamsicle-like, either. As an IPA, it is burly and bitter, resiny and dank; as a tropical fruit bomb (as advertised), it is a-swing-and-a-miss.

M - The feel is big, heavy and sticky. While I appreciate the sturdiness, the feel was not particularly enhancing overall.

D - I'd rather a regular Jai Alai.
