4oz sample from tap at Rattle 'n Hum (one of 9 cigar city samples from the night)
A: clear chestnut brown with a rapidly dissipating off-white head. a good looking brew (like the rest of the maduro oatmeal brown ale series)
S: deep aromas of fresh vanilla beans. not the imitation extract like other vanilla beers. toasted bread and roasted malts on a bed of oak chips. hints of caramel and a faint nuttiness.
T: less intense than the nose. roasted malts up front with caramel sweetness throughout. oak spiciness comes through rather pronounced. a moderate amount of vanilla beans blending nicely with mild notes of raisins and toasted almonds. definitely raisins.
M: smooth as heck but could use the slightest bit more body. minimal carbonation, which seems appropriate
D: very pleasant. I'm satisfied with 4oz. I could certainly even do a pint but I'm nowhere near as crazy about this as I am about the maduro espresso or oatmeal cookie.

Enjoyed on tap at Rattle N Hum. Vanilla in aroma. Dark coloured body with a faint head, and leaving a lace sheet. Hoppy, a bit sour in the finish not unusual in a brown. Vanilla gives it a bit of sweetness, and so does some brown sugar, but neither adds to drinkability.
