Poured on tap at the CCB tasting room. Dark brown color with an off-white head.
Smells of whiskey and alcohol, hint of floral hops.
Tastes follows with whiskey, some bitter hops. Don't get the extra malt that I'd like to find in a scottish.
Mouthfeel is liquor-like. Very nice.
Overall, this brew was not heavy enough, and somehow felt boozy at 4.9%.

Nice hoppy Scottish. Good peaty aromas. Body is brownish to amber coloured with little head and a lace sheet. Smooth mouthfeel. Caramel prevelant, but more bitter than sweet. Good hops that kicked up the taste and drinkability.
On tap at the brewery, fresh and refreshing.

Enjoyed during my long weekend in Tampa. I had the chance to meet some great people and try some new and some amazing new things. Had a lot of fun, but glad to be home. Enjoyed on 4/11/2011.
Was thrilled to be able to try this new one from CCB. Sat down in the morning and ordered this one up. Poured out a nice caramel brown color with a smooth even head of white and a nice clean, clear look to it. Aroma was sweet caramel malts, earthy grains and a touch of light hops in the nose. Very nicely done and very light and appealing. Warming brings out a light touch of toffee, some more clean earthy notes and a nice mellow profile. Each sip is clean, light, and finishes with a smoothness that leaves a sweet touch of malt on the tongue. Again effortless in its presentation I am quite impressed with its overall profile. As I finish it up the caramel and toffee flavor takes over and I am left with a light, clean but filling finish that was highly enjoyed,
Overall an excellent representation of the style and really a great pick here. Loved this one and would like to see it bottled.

A - The beer pours a reddish mahogany hue, translucent, and is capped with a frothy head.
S - The nose is mild, and comprised of mostly grainy and caramel notes, and some hint of grassy hops.
T - The flavor is also mild, offering mostly grain, vague caramel and some earthy flavors which are well balanced by a grassy hop presence, but the flavor is just too light overall. I would've liked to see a bit of peat character in this.
M - Lighter side of medium, too light, very soft carbonation.
O - This is an easy drinking beer, no doubt, but it is lacking in dynamic appeal. Not malty enough, certainly; also not heavy enough.

On tap at cigar city brewery as the pilot series
Dark redish brown in color with small white head some lacing.
Sweet malty smell with lots of toast grain.
Sweet toasted malt taste balanced with some hop bitterness towards the end.
Overall a very tasty beer that can be sessioned

On-tap in a pint at the Cigar City tap room. A slightly hazy tawny brown with thin white head, spotty lacing. Smell: very toasty...toasted raisin bread, caramelized sugars. Taste: toasted bread, sweet apple and golden raisin notes, caramel. Herbal and slightly citric hopping. Light bodied with somewhat of a hard-water feel. Certainly sessionable, but not one of their more interesting offerings.
