Growler fill from Growler Tuesday (6/25/13) enjoyed in a CCB Pint glass.
A - Pours a deep red or muted brown/copper (depending on your lighting) with apx .5-1 inch of a light beige head. Foam dissipated after ~2 minutes leaving nice rim of lacing on the glass edges.
S - Hint of hops and a deep smoke like you've been tending to a caja china all day.
T - Initial flavor is floral, juicy, balanced and refreshing like the regular Tocobaga. Aftertaste leaves the back of the tongue and throat with a spiced chili and rest of the mouth with a rich smoke without the carbon flavor. "Tastes just like a cigar!" squealed a female friend while tasting.
M - Light, watery, good carbonation thought the drinking period.
Final Thoughts - Really enjoyed this one. Had more flavor and not nearly as spicy as the Mango Habanero IPA that they offer while leaving a nice zing in the aftertaste. Didn't get to have this one at Hunahpu's Day but glad I got a growler of it to share. If you like a beautiful balance between smoke, spice, and floral notes where you can't taste the alcohol in it; then this is the one for you!
