Poured from a 750ml bottle into a tulip.

A: Pours a hazy light amber color with a massive rocky white head. Moderate amounts of retention and minimal lacing.

S: Smells of some light funk, earthy and tropical citrus.

T: Close to the nose, moderate amounts of funk with some earthiness and some tropical citrus lingering about.

M: Medium body, tons of carbonation.

O: I'm not quite sure what to make of this. It smells decent but I get no guava flavor at all, just that typical sasion light funkiness. I'll update the review if it gets better as it warms.

Thanks to blutt59 for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma has quite a bit of sweet guava in it, as well as some wheat, yeast and orange citrus notes. The flavor is very similar. The beer is very fruity with a lot of guava and apple notes. I also get some nice biscuit malt and Belgian yeast. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Thanks, DarthKostrizer!

Slightly hazed golden and amber body with a large, pillowy, persistent near-white head that leaves the glass messy with spiderwebs of lace. Very pretty.

The aroma is of guava, unsurprisingly. The fruit character shines through more and more as the beer comes fully to room temperature. The fruit flavor is authentic, bright, and juicy. There's a mild amount of funk and other citrus elements as well.

The flavor also has lots of authentic, bright, juicy guava character, along with a slightly funky Belgian yeast accent. Low to moderate bitterness.

Medium bodied with high carbonation.

A really nice surprise. I had no expectations for this, and this really was a delightful beer.

Review from notes.

A: Pours a hazy orange, very foamy head, great retention and lacing. This beer foamed up instantly upon pouring and stuck around for a most of the time it took to drink it.

S: Lots of guava. Drank side by side with Guava Grove, and the Groove had significantly more fruit on the aroma. It was rather pithy with some caramel and a little bit of citrus.

T: Lots of guava as expected, but there was not as drastic a difference between the flavor of the Groove vs. Grove than on the aroma. A little bit of spice and citrus comes through as well.

M: Medium bodied, a little thick for a saison. Slight alcohol presence right at the end. Finishes dry.

O: As the name implied, this beer was filled with Guava. I thought it was pretty good, and while not overly complex, was tasty and that’s what matters most.

Poured to a Duvel tulip glass.
Pours a beautiful hazy orange with two fingers of off-white head that settles to a half finger head that leaves nice lacing.
I defiantly get the guava in the nose, other tropical fruits too, pineapple, grape, a bit of citrus, lemon zest, I also am getting a little clove, coriander, some peppery notes, and sweet malty background.
Lots of interesting flavors here. I get more malt then in the nose but that sweet/tart guava still takes the foreground. As it is warming I am getting more sweet flavors, defiantly has some nice spicy flavors. There is a nice bitterness, I kind of miss the big sour flavor from the last batch of guava grove I tryed.
Lots of carbonation, still pretty creamy, very zesty, nice clean finish. This one has an interesting effect on the palate, the zingy citrus sticks around for awhile where I would have guessed to have a little more sweetness.
Overall I really like this beer. Cigar City puts out some pretty unusual Saisons. Im pretty sure they have changed the yeast on a few batches of the guava grove, this guava groove is really nice but my favorite variety was the sour guava grove. Anyway, I will get this again and defiantly pick and extra one up for a certain Texan trading buddy.

Big thanks goes out to beeruser for sharing this one! Served from bottle into a Bell's stemmed tulip. Poured a yellow-orange with a three finger off-white to tan head. Maintained decent lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, guava, and fruit. The flavor was of sweet malt, guava, fruit, passion fruit, and subtle tart. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. While it is not quite as good as the regular version in my opinion, this is still a very solid offering. This one is a little more on the sweet side of the spectrum as far as Saisons with fruit added goes, but it was in no way palate destructive. If you don't like sweet brews, you will not like this one most likely. So be warned.

On-tap at BA Hunahpu's release. Poured into a CCB Snifter.

Poured a hazy gold with a thin white head. Big aromas of guava, lemon juice, and some funk. Very tropical, reminds me a bit of passion fruit juice. Taste follows the nose closely, again very tropical, tart, and funky, yet incredibly drinkable. Mouthfeel is crisp, with a medium body and sharp carbonation. Overall an amazing beer, much better then Guava Grove. Hopefully this will be worked into steady rotation!

Split this bottle with 3 other friends.

Pours a hazy orange/gold with almost no head at all. Almost looked like apple cider sitting in the glass.

Smell is loaded with guava, pepper, and some barnyard funk.

For me the barnyard funk of the yeast completely overpowered the guava. It was still there, but not nearly as strong a presence as I was expecting. Finishes slightly sour and tangy.

Mouthfeel/carbonation are normal for the style.

Admittedly saison is my least favorite style by far, but I thought the guava may rescue this one. Just not enough guava to push me to like it. Not awful, but I doubt I'll ever seek it out again.

three and a half inches of pure white foam at first but it settles down after a few minutes and leaves a good bit of foam streaking down the sides of the glass. T

light aroma, I pick up some very light tart tones, maybe like a small touch of lemon, along with light grain and a very floral, herbal smell. Hints of heather like smell, fresh meadows come to mind. Seems this maybe just what I am looking for this evening, so I lean in and take a sip, fighting my way through the foam that is still capping the top to find the most mellow, smooth, and refreshing Saison I have had in quite a long time. Fresh herbal and floral notes, touches of light grass nice light biscuit or buttery flavor mid palate, so well balanced here. The whole time this light almost lavender like flavor is bouncing around my palate wit hints of light banana and almost clove. nice tart apple finishes it and wow.
