Pours light golden with thin white head. The cucumber smell and taste are very potent. Also tastes of wheat and light yeast flavor. The cucumber with alcohol almost gives a light dry pickle flavor on the back of the tongue. Nice and refreshing. Excellent summer beer. (267 characters)

Pours a clear deep golden color. The aroma is like that of dill pickles. The taste is also very cucumber forward with pickle like flavor and a small dry yeast in the finish. Hard to get much grains in the taste over the pickle. Light bodied ale that would drink easy if it tasted better. Overall, this is not good. (319 characters)

large bottle poured cloudy with a durable off-white head.
Both the aroma and the flavor feature cucumber flavor, although it unfortunately comes across as past its prime. Nice mix of sweet, tart and bitter components until the aftertaste which is a tad overly bitter. (271 characters)

Bottle picked up locally, enjoyed from a ccb humidor glass.

A brew pours a crisp transparent orange with lively visible carbonation. Big giant and frothy head and chunky lacing.

S nose is all about cucumber. Some dill and grassiness, but not too saison like.

T/M/O taste is also all about cucumber. I am not a crazy cucumber person bit this is really well done and actually quite tasty. Good balance with sweetness. Easy drinking with a crisp feel. Very refreshing. (468 characters)

Date: 8/31/14
Location: DeCicco's Pelham
Glassware: Snifter

Appearance: Lightly golden to orange in color. Slightly beige off white head. Pours with a large white head with fantastic retention. Little cling.
Aroma: Well, it's not often that I get to describe a beer as a "cucumber bomb" but that's exactly what it is. Straight, unadulterated, cucumber. No other smells or aromas.
Taste: The taste is not quite as cucumber flavored as the aroma lets on but it's not far off either. Cucumber is the flavor, working hard to find something else I get some slightly sugared pale malts. I was looking for some of the yeast elements considering its a saison but just didn't get any hits. The finish is... cucumber.
Mouthfeel: The beer is medium bodied medium high carbonation. It feels heavier because I think my tongue is expecting to be chewing cucumber. I don't know what else to say. (884 characters)

Poured from a bomber into an enlarged snifter.

Appearance: Pours a very hazy amber and leaves a full, multi-fingered head which fades quickly to a finger and then lingers for a while.

Smell: Cucumbers right upfront, slight hay funk, must, light floral notes, light cloves and banana. The big, refreshing cucumber takes the lead and is quite notable.

Taste: Cucumber, slight hay/grassy funk, malts, green peppers, cloves, banana. Quite smooth, balanced flavor.

Mouth-feel: Medium carbonation with a spritzy, carbonated, medium feel to it. Finishes smooth and crisp.

Overall: I was impressed with this one, besides the cucumber this is a nice, refreshing, light saison. The cucumber makes it interesting for me, and I enjoy cucumber, so I like that aspect to it. Would definitely drink again. (796 characters)

A straightforward saison base with an aroma and flavor of light cucumber. The base beer itself is light and simple with some light peppery saison yeast character. Foamy carbonation with good head retention lends a creamy texture. No obvious flaws. The cucumber is unique, refreshing and easy drinking. I think it pairs well with spicy dishes but overall the beer isn't very interesting. (408 characters)

Appearance is hazy golden color with a two finger fluffy white head.
Aroma is spices, banana, yeast, and cucumber.
Flavor is banana, cucumber, bitterness throughout. Not complex but good.
Mouthfeel is medium to thin, carbonation is big and crisp.
Extremely refreshing beer but the flavors aren't big or complex.
Not a bad summer beer but I wouldn't seek it out.
I'm thankful I got to try this. (393 characters)

On tap at the House of Brews. Served in a pint glass.

Appearance - Hazy pale orange body. Big white head. Lots of lacing. Thick collar and great retention.

Smell - Lots of cucumber. Almost pickly. A bit of esters and some grain.

Taste - Still lots of cucumber. Much more grainy and some slightly sweet pale malt. Light cucumber is the lingering aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Well carbonated. Very drinkable. Medium light body.

Overall - It's refreshing and the cucumber flavor is pretty much all there is here. If that's your thing, it's good. I rather enjoy it. (561 characters)

A: Golden cloudy with a greenish tinge, huge torrent of upward fine bubbles rise in the middle of the glass, 2 fingers of yellowish fine bubbled head.

S: Belgian yeasts, light sweetness, light cucumber, dough, phenols, light blue cheese quality.

T: Cucumber, light tartness, lemon water quality, light dough, light phenols, light blue cheese quality.

M: Light body, lots of fine bubbled carbonation, dry crisp light feel.

O: Great light beer to have on a hot day. Definite cucumber but it's light and still present. Unlike Wicked Weed’s imperial cucumber in that there's has a strong and in the face melon quality. Bought in West Palm Beach Whole Foods, drank on Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton the first day of my vacation, July 12, 2014. (741 characters)

Not for everyone. You definitely get the cucumber. The smell reminds me of my mother's kitchen when she was making homemade pickles - a pleasant smell but not something I'm looking for in a beer. Got this on a sampler. Don't think I could do an entire glass. (258 characters)

Ohhhh God.smells like hippy feet and a salad from a cheap hotel buffet. Looks like Miller lite. Tastes like cucumber, but in a way that makes me hope I never encounter them again. I don't know what they were thinking when they brewed this but I won't hold it against them. (273 characters)

Bottle: Poured a dirty cloudy beige color ale with a super large off-white foamy head with good retention and some great lacing. Aroma of cucumber is actually quiet dominant with some peppery yeast notes also easily identifiable. Taste is dominated by cucumber notes with loads of peppery yeast and some rustic malt notes. This beer is really dry with loads of attenuation. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation. A really interesting experience but cucumber notes are a bit too strong to withstand large quantities of this beer – this is a beer I would share gain with multiple friends. (608 characters)

look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

Appearance: Hazy yellow-gold. Head starts off massive and clumpy white. Thick sheets of lacing stick to and coat the glass. Decent head retention leaves a small clumpy cap with a dense bubble structure.

Smell: Straight up cucumber. Vegetal and fresh. Hops are lightly tropical with some mango, tangerine, and some vague stone fruit. A touch of spicy hop and lemon zest care of the Sorachi Ace. Cucumber skin. A touch of leafy vegetable. A vague hint of yeast with a mildly damp element. So much cucumber with some solidblemon flesh and zest undertones.

Taste: A touch raw honey wirhna solid punch of lemongrass and lemon zest. Vague hop spiciness coupled with some mild tropical notes. Some mango, tangerine, and pineapple. Cucumber for days. Flesh and fresh peeled cucumber skin. A ton of leafy vegetable. Fresh juicy cumber. Malts are nice and light with a slight bready element. Some pale malt sweetness. So much vegetable. Some yeasty esters and a slight damp element.

Mouthfeel: Medium leaning to light body with a moderate carbonation. Clean finish with a slightly creamy initial sip.

Overall: As promised.

One of the more unique things I've encountered. Has more cucumber flavor than an actual cucumber. Works well and really is refreshing. (1,256 characters)

Consumed 5/20/14

Appearance: Hazy golden orange/tangerine - pours with a giant, fluffy white head keeps a solid cap, leaves some serious webs of lacing

Smell: Massive cucumber aroma - more of a potent cucumber aroma than sniffing an actual cucumber (which definitely makes no sense) - concentrated cucumber juice - some yeasty aromas and some light saison funk - some light citrus and some pale malts in the back - some light bread - the aroma is really dominated by the hyper cucumber

Taste: Cucumbers with some dill and some grain - cucumber skin, cucumber flesh - some saison funk, with some earthy and yeasty flavors - some pale grains and light bread - yup, cucumber sandwiches - light spiciness from the yeast, finishes clean and refreshing

Mouthfeel: On the light side of medium, nicely carbonated, smooth, dry, refreshing finish

Overall: Cucumber sandwiches! Tea and crumpets! Quite!

The sheer quantity of cucumber in this beer deserves some kind of award, as it barely makes sense. If you don't like cucumber, you are going to hate this beer. Fortunately, I do. The saison base is either very mild or just completely dominated by the cucumbers. Regardless, it's worth a try. (1,189 characters)

The aroma is cucumber, pickles without the vinegar, and fresh green dill.

The flavor follows of cucumber water with fresh dill inside. It also tastes briney of pickles, but again without the tart vinegar qualities.

I appreciate the interesting qualities of this brew, but there are just elements missing that get this past drinking "cucumber water beer." (356 characters)

750ml bottle dated 5/23/2013, given to me as an extra by Brandon- thanks! Poured into an unlabeled snifter today, 1/20/2014.

App- Clear pale yellow-straw body, lots and lots and lots of white head with great retention and lacing. Looks like a well-carbonated saison, appealing.

Smell- cucumber, cucumber, cucumber. Really, more of pickles than anything as it is cucumber with spicy pepperiness and a dash of salt. Interesting to smell over and over again.

Flavour- pickled cucumbers, faint pepperiness, not vegetal at all. No yeast flavours.

Mouthfeel- solid and appropriately thin body, good carbonation that does not fill up the palate too much. Aftertaste is a bit of lemon (?) zestiness that doesn't hang around for long.

Overall- cool beer, cool concept. However follows more of the pickled route than the fresh cucumber route. Most likely due to the age on this one as it was given to me. Will have to try this one again fresh, but regardless this is definitely a vegetable beer without much in way of saison qualities. (1,040 characters)

I've been wanting to try this beer for a long time...I poured it into a balloon glass. Hazy yellow gold body that shows off some very active carbonation. There is a thick white head that holds for a while and leaves minimal lacing.

Aroma is of Cucumber! Go figure...No, but there is a pleasant cucumber aroma with a little hint of lemon citrus fruit. I find it quite appetizing and well-executed.

The taste is reminiscent of a raw cucumber, like and unpeeled cucumber. There is a light acidity that flows with the light body of the beer, no doubt because of the strong amount of carbonation. There is not much sweetness here, but a good true cuke flavor mixed with wheat-like qualities. Very refreshing!

I am glad that I got the chance to try this, because I think it's a nice take on the saison style, and it reflects Florida well. The lemony hope qualities go hand in hand with the cucumber flavor and aroma, and the base saison is strong and achieves the right properties to differentiate this beer. (1,005 characters)

Pours a murky yellow/amber color yellow on the outside more orange core showing through. Nice fluffy two finger white head that falls oh so slow with some descent lace.

Aroma is definite cucumber but also tart lemon grass, some light pilsner malts maybe some light wheat hints also. Some light spice from the yeast also.

Taste is bam a big burst of carbonation light malt then big cucumber notes. Other flavors appear as the cucumber dies down lemon grass, some earthy yeast notes and spice hints.

Mouthfeel is light medium the carbonation level is too much for me to find it good. But many saisons do tend to be peppy.

Overall was looking forward to trying this one smells good the carbonation just kind of kills it for me. Probably the only Cigar City brew I have not loved. (780 characters)

1 pint 9.4 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a tulip glass

A - It is a light amber color with pale yellow highlights. It is topped with several inches of white head.

S - The smell is cucumber, lemon, and yeast. The cucumber opens up as it warms.

T - The taste is a combination of cucumber, lemon, and honey. It has a somewhat dry finish. The cucumber takes the forefront as this beer warms up.

M - Moderate with a champagne-like feel.

O - My girlfriend picked this up for me in Florida. I was eager to try it. I expected overwhelming cucumber. It was prominent but not overwhelming. I liked the lemon and honey flavors. They complimented the cucumber giving this beer a refreshing quality. I probably would not drink this all the time, but it made for a nice change of pace. It also was a great post mowing beer. (809 characters)

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/29/2013. Pours lightly hazy bright golden amber color with a 3 finger foamy and rocky white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big fresh cucumber, lemon, pear, pepper, clove, coriander, floral, herbal, grass, cracker, and yeast earthiness. Nice and unique aromas with good complexity of yeast esters with big cucumber presence; with decent balance and good strength. Taste of cucumber, lemon, pear, apple, pepper, clove, coriander, herbal, grass, cracker, bread, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of lemon, cucumber, pear, pepper, clove, coriander, herbal, grass, cracker, bread, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of yeast ester, cucumber, and malt flavors; with a nice malt/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. High carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice and unique saison style. Well balanced yeast ester, cucumber, and malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering. (1,324 characters)

A: Pours a light straw yellow that is somewhat hazy without being cloudy. A HUGE 2-inch pillowy head appears upon pouring that hangs on quite well throughout the drinking session.

S: Cucumber is immediately apparent on the nose - it dominates. Lingering in the background is honey malt sweetness combined with a tinge of belgian yeast funkiness.

T & M: Whoa - the cucumber absolutely dominates the palate. In the background is a mildly spicy Belgian brew that emphasizes spices over fruits. Coriander, pepper, etc are noticeable. What is missing is the lemon/citrus fruit flavors typical of most Saisons.

O: As a vegetable beer, this hits the mark. The cucumber dominates both the nose and the flavor profile. However, as a Saison, this beer fails. Instead of the cucumber complementing the Saison characteristics, it instead dominates. I'd dial down the cucumber addition by at least 20% in order to get a more balanced brew. (930 characters)

I brought a bottle to share at Max's during Rare and Obscure

A: Cloudy blonde.

S: Cucumbers and brine.

T: Lots of cucumber. Different, like a brine.

M: Smooth, even carbonation.

O: Interesting, but still clean and refreshing. A nice take on a saison. (255 characters)

A-Cloudy yellow/orange some carbonation, one finger head that doesn't last long.

S- Cucumbers, lemon, grass tad bit of spice.

T-Starts with a present, but not over bearing, cucumber. then grassy notes with a tad bit of spice and lemon.

M-Light, slight carbonation tad crisp.

O-Easily better than the Flat 12 cucumber beer. Still not sure if cucumbers belong in beer, but this one at least is enjoyable. (406 characters)

Bottle thanks to my cousin down in Tampa. Reviewed from notes.

A- Golden bodied ale into a tulip with a nice foamy white head. Head forms to about two fingers high and has decent retention. Small ring and spotty lace.

S- Upon opening the bottle a huge blast of cucumber aroma, like when I am chopping up fresh cukes for a salad. It fades just a bit with time and allows some lemon, spice and farmhouse yeast hints through.

T- Cucumber flavor dominates this one. I figured it might be a bit abrasive with the rest of the beer but blends in quite well actually. Spice, lemon, grassy and yeast flavors beneath that. Has a melon feel too, maybe relation to cucumbers somehow.

MF- Foamy dried out body with high amounts of puffy carbonation. Very slight bitterness and some slight tart feel after some time.

Super cucumber flavor and aroma that blends in nicely with the base farmhouse yeast. (892 characters)
