Had been sitting on this for a while, my favorite CCB porter. Held up extremely well, good balance, right amount of carbonation, smooth roasty flavors. The nose is a bit off, but the beer is fantastic. Severely underrated and should be brewed and bottled more often. Sad to see this bottle no longer in my cellar. Drink em if you got em. Good stuff

From tasting notes. Appearance: Deep dark brown with a 2” tan foam cap with a very fine bead. Smell: fruit and chocolate nose Taste: Starts creamy with light chocolate and caramel followed by traces of fruit and alcohol. Finishes with a light tartness and grapefruit rind bitterness. Mouthfeel: Medium full body, very creamy and effervescent, mild alcohol warming.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Reviewed from notes.
Appearance - Black body with a huge mocha head. Settles to a thick layer of foam. Nice.
Smell - Very different than I imagined. Fruity. Alcoholic. Sweet. Like a brandy-soaked cake. Coffee malts behind it.
Taste - Far more intense with the dark malts. Very chocolatey. The fruitiness comes through in the finish and then the flavor drops off quickly.
Mouthfeel - Thick at first, but has a very clean finish. Well carbonated.
Overall - Rich and tasty. Well made. The drop off in flavor at the end is just a function of the style, I guess.

February 2012
Hunahpu snifter
A: Pour a deep dark brown color. Looks black in the glass. Over carbonated. Literally 3 fingers of light tan head. Sticks around a while. Some lacing bits.
S: Smells like dark fruits. Lager yeast. Dark chocolate. Cocoa. Maybe some Cherry.
T: Very carbonated. Getting a good amount of roast with muted chocolate.
M: Fuller side of medium. It is very carbonated so keeps me from saying full on full bodied.
