a hazy orange/copper color with 2 fingers of fluffy white head, great retention. smells of piney/grapefruit hops, lots of caramel, tropical fruits. citrusy sweet at first, followed by lots of caramel and then some grassy bitterness hits the palate.. finishes with a nice caramel bready flavor, honey-like sweetness in the finish.
this is a really thin ipa, low carbonation, but so damn tasy that it doesn't even matter that it feels like a light beer.
i'm not getting much of the maple wood flavor, but it is a pretty "tasteless" wood unless it's been charred/smoked.. which i'm not sure this has been since it just says aged on baseball bats.. still, it's a pretty cool/patriotic concept. a pretty good ipa, not as good as jai alai, but good nonetheless.

On tap at the tasting room
Bright orange gold. Mainly clear. Large white frothy head. Lots of lacing.
Smells kind of musty, like an old wooden boat, with a bunch of citrus.
Very strong orange and rind flavor along with a decent amount of wood. A little bit of corriander like spice. More malty than hoppy. Quite a bit of bread.
The carbonation seems a bit high. Kind of prickly. Also a little on the hefty side.
This beer offered a lot more wood character than I was expecting, which was nice. It is definitley a unique flavor and a very good beer.
