Reviewed from notes. Had on-tap at CCB tasting room. Poured into pint glass.
A: Pours a cloudy, peachy copper color, with a one-finger white head.
S: Pine resin dominates, with the melon, bitter citrus (and onion, to me) in the background.
T: Follows the nose very well, with the addition of a bready caramel malt flavor.
M: Just a touch heavier than expected for the style, but light overall. There is a bit of a bitter hang at the end.
O: This is good, but it certainly doesn't threaten Jai Alai as the best American IPA CCB makes. One further note about the aroma/flavor from a discussion with Wayne (the brewer): the melon/onion aspects apparently derived from the late-harvest hops used in this brew. I found it initially off-putting myself, but after a trying this one a few times, it grew on me.
Serving type: on-tap
