12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Thanks go to Stakem for the hookup on this bottle.

Pours a clear dark copper, with a couple fingers of dirty off-white head. This retains with roughly a rich finger or so of froth, which soaps the sides of the glass with a thick cascade of sticky lacing. The aroma has a twang to it up front from a combination of citrus, caramel, and then more of a buttered toast presence along the back. This isn’t overly airy in the nose but does have a light floral tinge to it on the edges.

The taste is malt forward, with more buttered toast and caramel tanginess that mixes in some citrus flavor as well. A light leafy bitterness stretches into a dry finish that leaves a little pith hanging on the palate. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with some sharpness on the tongue and then more of a crisp creaminess that spreads out into the rest of the mouth. Pretty solid fee on this.

This was decent. It was definitely a more malt heavy take on the style but there was still enough of a hop presence to keep this crisp and balanced. There’s nothing really exceptional about this but it’s still a solidly drinkable Red Ale. Thanks again Adam.

A: pours into my pint glass a deep caramel and copper color. A nice half finger tan head and minimal lacing.
S: Sweet and semi reminiscent of a Belgian strong dark ale, if you can believe that. Caramel malt, sugar and dark fruit are all in play. Surprisingly complex.
T: complex, like the nose. Starts with the sweet caramel flavors and blends with dark fruit. Toward the back there is a slight tartness and a tad of a hop snap.
M: medium carbonation with a body to match. Slightly creamy and nice aftertaste.
O: this brew was more complex than expected and not quite true to the style. I live their interpretation though. More Irish red/ Belgian dark than American Red in NY opinion. Cigar City does not disappoint.

Poured into a glass. Taken from November tasting notes from trip to FL.

Pours deep rich reddish brown, with light foam patches atop. Bready toffee notes. Smells sweet. Strong caramel sweetness. Very light cherry bite. Small amount of carbonation in the mouthfeel. Good and drinkable.

Pours a dark bronze color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is malty, caramel, a touch of sweetness. Taste is also a bit malty but hops are present, some caramel as well. A very easy drinking beer. Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid brew.

$5.00 for 12oz single, served in a flared pint glass
No ABV indicated
Sampled 09DEC12

[A] Pours with a large, 3 finger plus head. Sandy in color, frothy in texture. Retention is immaculate. The body has a dark amber hue - brown at the center of the glass with orange tints along the edges. Clarity is on the low end of the spectrum. Any would-be lacing comes clean off the glass eventually.

[S] Yeasty and overly phenolic. Fumes of plastic hide the malt and hop character entirely.

[T] More obnoxious off flavors. Mild caramelly sweetness with a touch of chocolate that manages an appearance on the very back end of the palate.

[M] Thick body with a lively bite of carbonation that grabs hold of the tongue immediately and holds on through the finish.

[O] Something went wrong here because this beer is bad. I mean really bad. Nothing but plasticky phenolics on the nose and palate. It's not until the very end of the finish until normal Amber Ale flavors come through.

Rusty red color, with a razor thin head. Smell is a bit of caramel with wheat and a touch of malt and grapes. Taste is a little tart and winey with a dry bready malt finish. Feel is light with medium carbonation. This one is a little odd. I'm not sure what they were going for, or if they pulled it off. It's not bad, but it's just not as compelling as their stuff usually is.

Tampa Bay Brew Bus Rollin Dirty Red Ale has a medium, cream-colored head, a hazy, red-brown appearance, some streaming bubbles, and some lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, brown bread crust, and the flavor is similar, with a nice and measured hop bitterness from the middle-to-end of the sip. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy, and Tampa Bay Brew Bus Rollin Dirty Red Ale finishes mostly dry, smooth, mellow, interesting, and delicious. Overall, this is a really enjoyable beer. I’m glad I was able to try it.
