Not the same beer as Moat Water - Barrel-Aged
Moat Water is a stout brewed with lactose and Skatepark of Tampa's own moat water, then barrel aged with coffee, vanilla and Canadian maple veneers. As for the flavor, think "all you can eat chocolate chip pancakes and bottomless coffee".
Its appearance is dark, just like your future if you dare step foot into the murky depths of the water that once held the legendary moat races during SPoT's Tampa Am and Tampa Pro competitions.
This beer was created through a unique partnership involving three Tampa, Florida natives: Cigar City Brewing, Skatepark of Tampa and PS Stix: the Canadian maple wood veneers used in the aging process at Cigar City Brewing were then added into SPoT's 25 Year Anniversary decks built by PS Stix.
Moat Water is the product of a collaboration that represents quality, a vested interest in the Tampa community and, most importantly, a love of skateboarding and beer.

Good looking dark black brew, with an inky, oily film remaining after the head has faded.
The nose and the palate are perfectly in sync: plenty of whisky, sweet but not overpowering; maple, chocolate, vanilla, cracker, toffee, and coffee. It's strong and sweet, but superbly balanced in both aspects, creating a BA maple stout that is impressively easy to drink.
Thick, chewy, and smooth on the palate. A joy to imbibe.

Cellared 2013 bottle poured into a snifter
A: Pours deep brown with a big frothy tawny brown head that settles to a solid layer and laces well.
S: Slightly smokey earthy roasted malt, coffee, hints of licorice, light chocolate and vanilla, a little maple comes out as it warms.
T: Roasty, nice coffee, a bit spicy, hints of licorice, light chocolate and vanilla, maybe even a little molasses and dark fruit.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, smooth.
O: Had no idea what I was getting into when my buddy pulled this one out from the back of his cellar, but the years have done this one well.
