A - Black with some brown around the edges when held up to the light

S - Chocolate and Vanilla bomb. It's like a liquid s'more. A nice roasty aroma and sweetness.

T - Not as smooth on the taste. Slightly overly bitter with the coffee. A nice vanilla kick on the back though.

M - Not as thick as anticipated, but still coats your mouth.

O - Sweet smelling and tasting with lots of roast and vanilla. Nicely done.

this is incredible beer, pulled out of an impressive cellar for a special occasion, and i am thankful to have been in attendance for it. this is among cigar citys best work to date. i am a lush for maple, so my review may be skewed, but there is no denying the impressiveness of this brew. chalky flat dark brown in color with a sudsy buy slow coming tan head. it leaves some lacing, but mostly dissipates after a few minutes. it smells woody and vanilla forward, with a dusty earthy malt complex less bitter than most big stout type brews. the maple is the mellowing element, not so much maple syrup as maple wood, which relaxes this beer in a way oak never could. there is an almost briny flavor to this beer in there some where with all the chocolate and vanilla that really works. the coffee is more intense in the nose than the flavor, and also adds an earthy element without adding any acidity at all. i am impressed by the cohesiveness of all the parts, and the finish is like nothing else, maple soaked chocolate covered coffee beans. its fabulous. gentle carbonated and a pretty dense body give this beer a remarkably smooth feel, and i found this to be really drinkable for the style. a special beer to say the least.

A beautiful black color with a dark tan head. Small sticks around as a ring forever but was never much more anyway.
Smell is malt, whiskey, sweet, cherries, dark chocolate. Well balanced.
Taste is malty, whiskey, sweetness, dark chocolate, cherries(?). Great complexity and balance.
Smooth as velvet, rich, eminently delicious. Another phenomenal brew from CCB.
