Had this offering in a becker pint. Reviewed from notes.

Pours with about a finger of white foam, only a ring left around the cap quickly after the pour. Spotty lacing. The body is a copper color with golden highlights.

The nose is standard IPA fare with some pine, herbal iced tea notes, and a bit earthy.

The flavors are big on that iced tea earthiness, a noticeable wheat malt base that was not as noticeable on the nose. The light bitterness comes across as piney. Again, not much going on here, but solid.

A little watery and a medium-light body. More slick over the tongue.

Just an easy drinking IPA from Cigar City. It does not try to blow your socks off, but it is a good beer I would have again if I was looking to take it easy. Plus, have to love the buccaneer on the can, yar!

In the nose there is some nice smelling hops there. I can smell grapefruit and lime. The aroma is somewhat lean.
Pours nicely from the can. The color is orange amber with a tall white head, streaming carbo bubbles makes it complete.
The taste is okay and nothing really sticks out. The hops are lean and light and subtly dank. Some malts come through so even as light as the flavor is, it is balanced.
On the palate it's very harsh tasting. Course and grainy with a bitter finish. Not good.
Another okay beer from cigar city. Harshness aside, I'd drink more.

"The people of Tampa Bay have fallen prey to Pirate invasion every year for over 100 years. After more than a century of failing to repel these seafaring raiders in their anachronistic wooden ships, despite access to modern sea, land and air arsenals that ostensibly should make short work of wind powered vessels equipped with naught but cast iron cannons and raging scurvy, it occurred to the folks of Cigar City Brewing that if you can't beat them start saying Arrrr Matey! And so we have brewed Invasion Pale Ale, a tropical session beer brewed for those long days of marauding, pillaging and pirating. Cheers!" Brewed in the style of an American Pale Ale, available as a year round release in 12 oz. canned 6 packs and on draft. Served above º Fahrenheit.

Poured from a 12 oz. can to a pint glass. Served above 57º Fahrenheit.

(Appearance) Pours a frothy foam head of a straw white color over a moderately hazy medium amber body. Sediment is abundant, thin and speckled. Carbonation is plentiful and vivacious, retention is very good. Lacing is light and spotty. 4.5

(Smell) The aroma consists of a fair balance of hops and malts. Hops are floral, citrusy and quite aromatic with a moderate bitterness. The malt profile is a solid base of biscuity pale malt with a touch of toasted caramel for some depth. Both aromas blend very well. 4.25

(Taste) Light biscuity and cracker malts pair with a juicy citrus fruit and floral hop bouquet, finishing off moderately bitter with a lingering squeeze of citrus peel over a biscuity malt base. Very citrusy and bright, Invasion is quite flavorful for an American Pale Ale. 4

(Mouthfeel) Texture is soft, lightly chewy, musty. Carbonation generates a brisk crispness for a lively and vivacious mouthfeel. Body is medium+ for the style, medium overall. Alcohol presence is low, and off characters are minimal. 3.75

(Overall) A very enjoyable and enthusiastic American Pale Ale from Cigar City, and a standout beer amongst their year-round lineup. Lots of hop flavor, moderate bitterness and a solid malt base make for a flavorful and appetizing pale ale. One of my top choices for the style. Now if I can only get it outside of Florida… 4
