Cigar City Invasion Pale Ale
Poured from a 12 oz can into a Cigar City shaker pint. Served chilled...
A) Golden amber brew, with a little haze. A finger of froth settled to a dusting. Patchy lacing clings to the top of the glass.
S) Pale malt with a big lemon twist. Light pineapple scent... Pleasantly zesty...
T) Near the nose... Good amount of citrus zest. Some grass... Light tropical fruit as it warms up a bit. Good balance...
M) Lighter medium body with moderate carbonation. It is crisp and refreshing. Slightly dry finish with some citrus zest.
O) Good drinkability.... At 5% ABV you could pound down a few of these easily. Glad to try it, but wouldn't really go out of my way to acquire more.

In the nose there is some nice smelling hops there. I can smell grapefruit and lime. The aroma is somewhat lean.
Pours nicely from the can. The color is orange amber with a tall white head, streaming carbo bubbles makes it complete.
The taste is okay and nothing really sticks out. The hops are lean and light and subtly dank. Some malts come through so even as light as the flavor is, it is balanced.
On the palate it's very harsh tasting. Course and grainy with a bitter finish. Not good.
Another okay beer from cigar city. Harshness aside, I'd drink more.
