Thanks to Cam for bringing me this and other Cigar City cans up from his recent Tampa trip. For a brewery I can't get locally, I feel I have a pretty intimate rapport with Cigar City thanks to these wily and generous Cameron and Sonny characters. Canned on date is 12/30/14.

A - 12oz can pours to a pint glass a dullish orange color with some dust haze floating in a standstill. An off-white head starts at about a finger; a thin ring and patchy cap remain when it's all over.

S - Nice citrusy tropical hop punch with orange and mango aplenty, some dank and grassy hops for good measure. Light malts of the biscuity and caramel variety.

T - A bit of a sharper hop bite here with plenty of orange, grapefruit, papaya and mango to be had while still leaving room for flowery resin and a pleasant toasted biscuit malt finish.

M - Light and oily feel, crisp with good carbonation, medium-light bitterness, very drinkable and quite flavorful for the ABV.

O - Plenty-o-nice tropical and outdoorsy woodsy hops, good malt presence, great flavors for a 5% pale and super drinkable. I feel some are underwhelmed by this one simply because pale ales of this par are standard now, all I can say is keep em comin.

Dark orange, almost ruby red grapefruit in color, topped by an off-white head of very nice size and retention. Fairly clear brew.

Nice hoppy aroma, with a pale malt backbone. Not much to it, but it gives a slight preview to the taste.

Flavor follows; this has the amount of citrus hop flavors one would expect from an IPA. However, it has a nearly thick malt body of mostly pale malts with a bit of caramel, as well. Balanced and not overly bitter. Bit of tropical hop flavor, as well, that tends to blend with the malt sweetness.

Very drinkable medium body; thicker with malts than most in the style.

Yet another APA that comes across as an IPA, but retaining enough body to set it apart (think Dale's, vice SNPA). Definitely not a "session" IPA, but definitely a beer that knows that hops are the strong point.
