Reviewed from notes. Had on-tap at CCB tasting room. Served in a pint glass.
A: Clear bright gold with a one-finger white head and medium visible carbonation.
S: Fruity sweet citrus with oak and the oaky vanilla. Underneath are some bready malts and small amount of tropical fruit hops.
T: Follows the nose, although the oak flavors are relatively muted. The aging on citrus elements makes this taste have a flavor profile similar to a citrous-forward IPA but with very low bitterness. Interesting.
M: Medium body, carbonation on the low side for style, and minimal alcohol presence.
O: I don't know quite what to make of this. It's different, quite different. Glad to have tried it once, but I don't believe I'll be having another. My only word of caution to other tasters of this beer - the flavors that I was getting out of the beer completely changed after two intervening sips of an IPA then had on tap. I don't think hoppiness plays well with this beer.
