32 oz. growler poured into a taster. Thanks to Adam for a pour of this.
Appearance - Dark brown. Not much head. A few wisps. Clear.
Smell - Roasted malts in the form of coffee. Passion fruit is noticeable but not overly strong.
Taste - Sharp fruit flavor gets muddled by the porter. Chocolate and coffee. Passion fruit comes back in the finish and gives it an acidic finish.
Mouthfeel - Thin and sharp tasting, for lack of a better word. Medium carbonation.
Overall - Fruit isn't helping things here. Meh.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from growler into a CCB pint glass.
A: Pours fairly clear, a medium brown with distinct red highlights. Forms a thin off-white head, and just a bit of visible carbonation.
S: Roasted malts, and a fruity sweetness that I would have called mango or papaya or something...but I suppose it's the passionfruit.
T: The fruitiness (mango/papaya/passionfruit) mixes in waves with the moderately roasted malts, which on alternating sips gives just some coffee character. Very little hop bitterness. Dry and moderately bitter on the finish.
M: Fairly light body for a porter, low carbonation, alcohol noticeable but doesn't detract.
O: Well...it's not bad, and quite different. It was an easy beer to drink, but not one that I'd go back to all the time. Which is good, since they said this was the only chance to have this beer on American soil.

Guinessy in appearance: ruddy blackish brown with creamy, but small, sandy-beige head.
Walnuts, chocolate cake, molasses, a bit of cherry – yeah, it smells good, but where's the passion fruit?
Chocolate-covered raisins, rum, lime, maple syrup – not bad at all to taste, but again – passion fruit? Not so much.
A nice and tasty, sparkly porter, but one lacking in character or a point of difference. Disappointing.
