On tap at the CCB brewpub.
Medium body with somewhat lively carbonation.
Moderately bitter, and overly bitter, grapefruit peel aftertaste.
Rather unenticing aroma. (165 characters)

Pours a dark honey color with a hint of red throughout. Good sized tan head leaves a lot of lace behind as it settles to a 1/2" thick film.
Smell is weak overall, with some faint notes of hops, grass and oak.
Taste makes up for the nose, bringing easily found notes of hops, straw, pine/herbal/spice, and some malt to balance the rest. Pretty good balance but the hop is a bit stronger than I seek out in a Pale ale, it borders IPA territory.
Medium full body, good effervescence. Drying almost to the point of astringency. Slight warming as the temperature rises. (564 characters)

Sample #8 at the brewpub 1/29/14

This dark, almost brown-orange beer is pretty heavily clouded with a sizeable fluffy pillow of head on top that holds together for the full length of the session and constructs some webbing on the glass as the beer recedes.
There's a nice, firm hoppy bitterness in the aroma. It cancels out some of the softer notes, but when I make more effort it's not terribly difficult to pull out a little bubblegum and must. Grapefruit and leaf aren't too hard for a pale ale, and there's an almost tropical fruits flesh note as well.
The bitterness holds in the flavor, though more fruity esters come out. I do get the bubblegum and a little earth before leaf, grass and grapefruit stifle it. The finish goes a little toward an aspirin note to close it out.
The body is quite dry, soft in its light body but having enough of both crispness and smoothness. (879 characters)

North dale pale ale. Pours a Dirty blonde color. Fluffy creamy white foam with lacing. Bubblegum aroma, lighter malt. Very smooth milky and creamy taste. Fruity. Good, but not a standout. Works for me though. 35 36 35 325 35 (259 characters)

On tap at the Brewpub. Served in a chalice.

Appearance - Huge pillowy head atop a hazy burnt orange body. Great lacing and great retention.

Smell - Nice grapefruit hop aroma. Slightly sweet fruity nose. Grainy.

Taste - The fruity sweetness is more prominent. I actually get the bubble gum that the menu says in the description. Grapefruit hops. Very grassy, especially in the finish. Bitter.

Mouthfeel - Medium body. Very bitter.

Overall - I wonder where that bubble gum component comes from. It's not bad in this beer. (526 characters)

Described by CCB as a light copper colored ale with an aroma consisting of bubblegum and tropical fruit. Northdale Pale Ale presents itself as a sessionable American Pale Ale, the 65 IBUs mask a serious 6.9% ABV.

The description is spot on. The bubblegum notes are very unique. This one is quickly becoming one of my favs at the Brewpub. (338 characters)
